  i thought the biggest change was "all these things".
  
  That used to be 1914, we used to speculate as to how old a generation was and work out he date of armageddon from there.
  
  NOW, 1914 is not the event the generation had to see, its now all three phases of TGT.
  
  If you think thats old, you must be on the GB!!

  AlmostAtheist, at the risk of going way off topic, I undertand and agree with your comment.
  
  People on this forum have lost alot in the process of fading and I see that as an intelligent process.
  
  I just dont understand how one could be so resolute in their position of the ORG and GB and yet be in fear of their parents and even give a talk.
  
  I mean I hate alot of policy and dont agree with all doctrine, but im still looking, whereas the original poster seems to have made up their mind, which is great, but to then stand up and give a talk just seems a bit hypocritical.
  
  I think it makes a mockery of the intellectual process and the basic right of man to stand up for what he believes in.

  99% of all jw's believe and are taught that to survive armageddon that you must be a jw or as a minimum be.

  associated with the jw's.

  however the april 1 "public" issue of the watchtower has some interesting wording.

  Hey Blondie, I think in view of recent developments this could be considered "old light" in as much as "flee" no longer means to leave BTG and come to "truth".
  
  This subtle change could be interesting to follow, if you have studied the REV book over the last couple of weeks you will notice that twice it says that there "will be no mass conversion" yet they do not back it up with a scripture.
  
  And it seems that there is a few conflicting "current truths".

  I read your post re. your talk. Why come here to do research? You have a CD rom, do your own talk.
  
  And if you're BIG enough to say such overly disparaging comments about the FDS ( which is your right), why do a talk at all?
  
  And when Billy the Bonus Bethelite comes back at you with some "meat" you tuck tail and run.
  
  Either stand up for you're belief and people will support you or admit your still searching and people will be patient.
  
  But to play the whole repressed kid thing, I aint buying it, your being soft and you know it.

  Im not at the point that you are, im still searching my feelings in a kind of luke skywalker way but for some reason to see you write that winds me up..

If you don't believe it, if you are that sure that you can write Hateful and Disgusting Slave, than why do it, I dont care who you live with, take a tea spon of cement in your diet and harden the F*#k up.

  Anyone know the rules on JW's and Tattoo's????

  i'm an inactive fader (only fading and not da'd for the sake of my family) but i still have all of my privileges and haven't done anything (that the hounders know about) that would get me df'd.

  however, a fews years ago before i was baptized i got a few tattoos.

  i want to get some new ones and get a some of my old ones touched up.

  "This Generation" of 1914, ended in 1995. When did teaching begin?

  as far as i can tell with google searches, it began sometime in the '60s.

  can someone confirm this?

  is that also when awake, page 4, began its classic statement, "... before the generation that saw the events of 1914 passes away.

  this is just a rant from me today, something that i have noticed all my life, but now as an adult bugs me more.

  the org has become a quasi god, it has its own "approval" which was cemented in 1918 and as a jw you cant question it at any level, you can question individuals( casue they are imperfect) but the org is perfect, it is theocratic therefore ruled direct by jesus, any mistakes are our fault.

  the "society" is beyond reproach in the eyes of so many.

  The "society" is beyond reproach in the eyes of so many.
  
  It makes you realise why there are so many non spiritual people in the org because all that is expected is unquestioning obedience to a fleshly organisation and you will be saved, spirituality is perceived through obedience to their rules.
  
  Sure they encourage prayer and mediation and to " make sure of it yourself", but they dont support it culturally.
  
  They have assumed the role of light receiver so ME as a dedicated JW has to look to them to be saved.
  
  IMO its borderline idolatry, harsh I know and I may change my opinion after I have a coffee but it seems as though the WT symbol is like Moses copper snake.

  i was reading an old post by barbara anderson, and she mentioned the "christian congregation of jws," which as i understood her post, is sep. from the wtbs.

  so that made me wonder just how many corporate entities they have, what the purpose of each on is, and what information about those entities can be publicly accessed...
