in the video here, taped at the campus progress journalism conference earlier this month, the pulitzer-prize winning journalist seymour hersh reveals how the neocons convened around dick cheney and brainstormed ways to kick off world war iv, as they fondly call their pet project to take out the muslims and foment a contrived clash of civilizations.

here's the text of interviews from the friday afternoon "young people - walk by holy spirit in the congregation" presentation at a 2008 jehovah's witness district convention.
this transcription approximately covers the second half of the presentation.
i've omitted names and locations to preserve individuals' privacy.
I remember very clearly that the speaker at last year's convention said that 'The majority of those who graduate do not have a job.'
Of course the audience just lets statements like that wash over them, but when you think about it that is an incredibly deceptive and dishonest statement. First of all, we don't know that it's even true, and second, even if 51% of graduates are not employed as of their graduation date, they usually find jobs soon thereafter, dontcha think?
Also at last year's convention, they interviewed brothers who did attend college, so they could testify how little it benefitted them and how they now regret it.
when i turn on the tv, i see so many fem men that i'm realizing that a 'manly" man seems to be a relic of the past.. metrosexuals rule the world now.supersensitive males who are in touch with their feminine side are the norm.. the john waynes & burt reynolds have been replaced with ryan seacrest lookalikes.. ladies, do you find these metrosexuals all that attractive?
?.
And for the record, metrosexuality is not by any means a new or modern trend. Other generations simply had different termsfor it.

dawg: A real man is a man that knows who HE freaking is, and lives by it... that's a damn man, that and testicles and a penis.
Yeah I think that pretty much covers it. At least for the term "man" in a positive sense.
There are plenty of "men" who are a disgrace to the male gender.
The phrase "pussification of America" has been in use for a while now, at least six years according to a quick google. That would include things like a man taking his wife's last name, passing laws requiring bike riders to wear helmets, or driving a minivan.
i will not provide links but i love death videos....just google death videos...they are aplenty...i believe they are my final exit in some way...many have died and i will also but they have already died and i am alive....don't bother i know i am sick............

SAG: Maybe I took that out of context?
Only the original poster could say for sure, but, yes, I suspect you took it out of context. There are several posters who commented in agreement with the initial post, supporting the idea that this morbid curiosity is not an actual desire that people get hurt and killed, but more of a philisophical view that watching someone's final moments can cause us to reflect on life and death, including our own, in a way that is not otherwise possible. I suppose it's possible he means something far more sinister... but unless zero wants to clarify we're all left to speculate. In any case, I certainly don't think the insults we have seen hurled were justified.

It's amazing how quickly some statements are twisted around here so as to be made more attackable.
SAG: Curiosity about death is natural, hence why people will slow down by accidents etc... However to find pleasure and love watching someone die is down right sick!
Please indicate where anyone in this thread said they find "pleasure" and/or "love" watching someone die.
Or admit you just made that up.
BTW, the video I posted is safe to watch, just a relevant song. (Tool- Vicarious)
the biggest game i missed was for a circuit assembly......in 1985 when miami played san francisco in super bowl xix.........my baptism was on 1-7-1989 so it was tough to miss the ca the next day so i missed cincy beating the bills and the 49ers beating the bears to qualify for super bowl xxiii.......do any of you remember when on the final week of the 1982 season i believe the networks did not have broadcasters for the games....missed those games to for the ca.....if you are a fan of another sport feel free to describe your sports experience!
Gotta admit... if the game was that important, it usually won out over the meeting.
So many great memories, starting with Super Bowl XX. This is the first year in a while I'll be too busy to participate in a Fantasy league.
i heard that amnesty international is saying that human rights violations have actually increased as china prepares to put on its best face- any that dare to cast the government in a negative light are being silenced.. can a boycott do any good?.
I'm boycotting. Not only am I not competing in any of the events, I'm staying home for the Olympics this year.

I think it's interesting that the topic associates femininity with nerdyness.
To be a "man," do I have to change the oil on my car? Or is it enough that I know how to do it, but I don't want to, so I pay someone else to do it for me?
Does being good at computers, math, and science make me less of a man (and more of a nerd)?
Do I get man points for watching football, and have them taken away for putting the toilet seat down?
Sounds to me like what some people are describing as "manliness" is just crass, rude, or stupid behavior.
"I don't bathe or wear deodorant. I slam doors in the faces of old ladies. I ride not one, but two Harleys... at the same time! I eat all my meals out of various garbage cans. Graaaaahhrr! See how manly I am!"
Seems like a very juvenile idea of manliness to me. To me, manliness means being wise, self-sufficient, healthy, emotionally secure, courteous.
