I think that we broke that record this week!!
My wife and I spent about 2 days, and my sister–in-law is out now!!! I’ve never seen somebody using her brain like she did. She’s brilliant! Let me explain:
Some months ago, I noticed something strange when my sis-in-law told me in a private conversation: “there are things in the KH that I don’t like. Elders are acting like the Pharisees, just giving orders”… So, after my wife “woke up” recently, I told her about that conversation. So, we decided to invite her to stay in our home for a couple of days, and try to see if she was receptive…
It was just great! First, my wife spent many hours talking with her alone, one time until 3:00 am. She was stunned! Next day, it was my turn. I had printed copies from some old WT publications, and letters (info about the UN scandal, 607/587/1914 issue, misquotes, pedophile issues, etc.), plus copies of letters from the WT to the Elders. (there’s a photocopier in the KH, and I still have access )
I showed her a lot of stuff, but when she saw the letters from the UN…. That was “the straw that broke the camel’s back”… She said that she never thought that the WT was soooo hypocrite!!! After that, she’s been spending a lot of time researching on the internet.
I feel happy from certain point of view, but I’m still scared of how other family members will react. She confronted her mom with the information, and I don’t know right now what’s going to happen.
Keep us in your prayers, “maintain your fingers crossed” or “wish us luck”… We’re going to need it!!!

OOTB: What I've heard is that there's an "Investigation Commitee" that is trained to be sent to problematic congregations. And yes: there are Elders that are trained to search for "apostates" inside the congregations! And they will start asking you directly or indirectly if you believe in the FDS. Oompa: The generation teaching. I found a WT magazine from 1927, explaining the "new light" exactly as the February 2008 Magazine. So, she noticed that our "new light" is RECYCLED. That magazine has been posted here before.
Galileo: what was that Bethel dress & grooming letter? Was it a directive on what to wear when visiting Bethel? Can you some it up?
Galileo: A couple of weeks ago, we received a letter from the GB, with a new full-color "tract", giving specific instructions about "what not to wear"when visiting Bethel. I can post the brochure, if you want!

Hello All!
I'm just writing to let you know that everything has been improving for the last 2 weeks! My wife have accepted that the WT is not the "Truth". I've been having good talks with her on a daily basis. She realized that the "Faithful and Discreet Slave" is just a parable used by Jesus, (By the way, check this out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parable_of_the_Faithful_Servant), and that the 1919 date is just a man's invention. I also showed her the UN fiasco letters. She was in shock!
I never thought that it will take me less that 6 months to make her think by herself!! As many of you, I was scared to death to talk to her about it. I spent months "digesting" all the information I found about our beliefs, alone and depressed. Now (at least) I feel that I have my wife's support. And that's a relief!!!
She's sad sometimes, because it is very difficult to "disconnect" after so many years. (She's a 3rd generation Witness). But now she understands how "brainwashed" we were!!!
At this moment, I don't know what we are going to do. Yet. All of her family members are still inside. She has been trying to tell some things to her mom, but without results.
I'm trying to find a way of return my "privileges" in order to start fading...
Thanks for "listening", and I really appreciate all the PM's, good vibes and comments from all of you. I've found a family outside of the Borg, and your support has been a blessing.

by minimus inpersonally, i don't think the organization is reformable.
while i was an elder, i tried to be a more moderate voice and as i grew older any harsher attitudes disappaited from within me.
as they say, all the good (and smart) elders have left.

The ONLY reason that there are "thinking elders" still inside, is because the BORG has our families "abducted". At least I know 5 fellow Elders that are in the same situation...
There is NO WAY that you can read the Bible, and REALLY analyze the WT information, without starting having questions. Most of the people that I know, does not study. They just highlight the answers in the WT Magazine...
It's horrible what the WT can do to a brain...
