  What has Changed the most? This board or your perspective?

  we seem to go thru 'phases' here of 'i'm leaving because the board is changing' threads.

  there is certainly a microcosm of social-evolution involved with any structured community, and that evolution may create in certain people a need to 'move on' [though often they are back rather soon after].. my assumption is though - in looking at the past threads and social environment here - that not much has really changed.

  there seems to be a flux of energetic change at times.

  I fully realise that some people here have been through a lot...and I mean a LOT. You are certainly one of them. I even daresay some have been damaged to a point of no return.

  You write..."I just cannot tolerate the high-mindedness and narrow thinking anymore" and "They are unyielding and unreasonable in the approach they take"

  First, I believe we must keep in mind that those JWs who stumble in here are still brainwashed to the bone. How can we expect to make them see straight in a few posts? It takes time {and much patience} to undo years and years of cult brainwashing.

  Second, I believe we must be careful not to become as we perceive them...high-minded, narrow thinker, unyielding, unreasonable.

  how do you all feel about getting in touch with long-lost ex-jws?

  there are a couple of people i used to know that i would love to hang out with again.

  Expressing doubt between keeping in touch or making a clean break indicates that at least a part of you would like to keep in touch.

  There are a couple of people I used to know that I would LOVE to hang out with again.

  when i joined jwd i still felt the need for a 'support group' and jwd was full of similar people wanting to share their experience.

  now the time has come for me to leave - i am now able to put 35 years of jw living completely out of my head.. .

  many factors have helped me, and jwd was an important part of that, and i will always be grateful to simon for setting up this forum.. .

  this young man gave his life, he will probably never have a wife and family for the rest of his life and this is how they are treated ?

  this administration should be ashamed of themselves and i mean down right on their knees ashamed.

  This video almost made me physically sick.

  This poor man who does not speak english, who has been waiting 10 hours, who is OBVIOUSLY without any weapon!!!

  They tase him not only once...but twice!!!

  I don't know what to say...or perhaps yes...

  I can only repeat that this man died for nothing...absolutely nothing:-(

  I met Jamie Oliver!!!

  i work in a large bookstore in toronto.

  this past thursday, jamie oliver came to promote his new book.

  i got to work the "green room" and hang out with him before he went onstage.

  You are probably talking about his show "Jamie at home"

  He is often outside in his garden, or in a kinda country kitchen.

  I love his shows. I started watching him right from the beginning when he was still single and in an apartment.

  He is amazing...and so cute with the lisp and the englis accent. Then again, his wife is no chopped liver either:-)
