  I got that dreaded call....

  my ex sister in law called me this morning to tell me that bother had shot himself.. he was raised a witness but stopped going at 18. he was my favorite brother always level headed and smart.. except lately.

  apparently he has been robbing banks in ca this summer.

  he led the police on a freeway chase and decided to shot himself instead of go to jail.. now i am wondering how well i know anyone at all anymore.. .

  I know some Elders hate me, but are stuck with me. I generally don't hold grudges but occassionally it does get to me.

  where i can buy a copy of actual wts literature that shows the only channel of god's communication didn't "see" christ had returned invisibly (as every eye would do according to revelation 1:7) until well after the "event"?

  Don,

  Recently I have been reading our oldtime publication, I covered that era as extensively as I could.

  Would the statement made in para 1 actually be saying that the FDS is in fact the Bible Students which still hold on to Russell's teachings? Obviously what we preached then is a far cry from what we preach now. Cross, blood transfusions, Christmas, Birthdays..........

  indicates total destruction of the wicked system and its spirit.. we (the anointed) are prepared for that day.

  Unfree, Welcome to JWD, AlphaOmega has the best response for putting of baptism. Another is to remind your parents that Jesus was 29 when he was baptized. When you get to college, join some clubs that you have interest in. All freshman have to "start over" usually in the friend department. Have fun exploring who you are. As you continue in school and then after, just keep fading or check in here for the latest WTBS updates so you can keep current JWspeak with your JW friend, and family. Most of the time they just want confirmation that you still know Jehovah and what is going on in the Organization. Take Care Yknot

  okay after having a discussion with a school mate about the witnesses, she challenged me to come up with "proof" of 1919. i have never really given thought to the 1919 thing, so i agree to the task.. cd, in computer, i start searching.

  all i can find basically is self-applied scriptures.

  next i call on a older sister who has wts dating back to 1910. i start pouring over the mags, and the books by rutherford, all the way until i reach 1930s.

  CD, in computer, I start searching. All I can find basically is self-applied scriptures. Next I call on a older Sister who has WTs dating back to 1910. I start pouring over the mags, and the books by Rutherford, all the way until I reach 1930s. Until 1927 the faithful and wise servant is Russell more or less (though sometimes the movement) and Jesus has been with the group since the 1880's. This is when Rutherford begins switching it to the organization only and starts rearranging dates.

  So is it just me or is the whole 1919 thing based on Rutherford saying so some 8 years later. Is there any chronology? Clearly the literature written by Rutherford in 1920 say that Russell is the Faithful and Wise Servant, and keeps with that theme until 1927, so I guess Jesus didn't tell at that time? I called the WTBS, the Brother who answered was clearly not qualified to answer such a question and bumbled about Daniel and Rev. and couldn't give any further reference.

  (I have not spoken to the local Eldership due to the fact that they are not the image of "spiritual strength, maturity or knowledge", and I would like to have ducks in a row before embarking on such a intellectually stimulating discussion )

  So now I am asking yall if there is anything else besides the ramblings of Rutherford that support such inspection and appointment? Is there any chronology? Is this just the blatant self application?
