If Jesus existed perhaps he only died for the Jews back then
by LouBelle inthis is just something i've been thinking about.
jesus was their messiah, he died for the jews back then and thus his "blood" doesn't automatically wipe out the sins of every human being.
we've got to take responsibilities for the sins we commit - so in order for "saving" we should "die" to the flesh every day.. thoughts?.

When you really think about it, you begin to realise the concept of Jesus dying for anyone doesn't make a lot of sense. Sure, someone can sacrifice himself to save others, even all humanity (á la Bruce Willis in Armageddon) but the idea that someone's death can appease a bloodthirsty god and prevent him from killing or torturing people is just ludicrous. It's absurdity is heightened by the belief that the person who is sacrificed is also the deity to whom the sacrifice is made, and the notion that the death was only temporary anyway.

My brother thinks like a pharisee!
by tsar_robles inearlier today i called my aging father to check on him; he asked me if my brother has met my newborn yet.
i told him 'well, no... i invited him to come over to meet his nephew whenever he'd like but never responded'.. then my dad asked me to let him know he'll be writing to him soon.
i briefly talked to my brother and relayed the message.

I also reminded him to come meet his nephew. He said he couldn't make that sacrifice if I can't make a sacrifice to go to the meetings.
That is not the sort of person you want anywhere near your children. I'm sure your son will do just fine without an uncle like that.

Without Jesus in my life, I would not be able to function.
You don't seem able to function very well now. You apparently have no concept of how to behave in public, and you don't seem intelligent enough to participate meaningfully in even the simplest conversations.
To be in this world and never know Him is unimaginable to me.
You probably don't have a very good imagination. Ironically, it's likely that this is due to your dependence on your imaginary friend.
I would be so depressed I just hate to think where I would be only having to depend on me.
Most likely, you would be considerably less annoying, but you're right, you don't seem emotionally or mentally strong enough to cope without a psychological crutch.

Hmm, I thought it was pretty good. You claimed that "Heteros dont make that kind of statement about our lifestyle", that kind of statement being (I assumed) an open display and affirmation of sexuality, complete with parties and dressing up. I responded by showing that heteros do indeed make such statements, and they do it all the time. What's the difference between gay people showing gay pride and straight people having a party to celebrate their sexual pairing?

Unmoved Mover- Arguments for the existence of God
by nvrgnbk intherefore, it may surprise them to learn that all the most commonly heard arguments for god's existence have been around in one form or another literally for centuries, and all of them were refuted soon after they were first proposed.
the arguments.
therefore, god does not exist.

Boy, im glad i believe in God because just having to read all of that would make me wonder if i exist
Never mind. This thread is for people who are capable of understanding and discussing basic philosophical arguments. No need for you to worry your little head about it.

What puts us angry white men off about gays is the freak parade that the media wants to front as the Gay image. Heteros dont make that kind of statement about our lifestyle and those extremists that get all the attention on Gay Pride day sort of scare the un-initiated.
Don't know about you but I see heteros flaunting their sexuality and "lifestyle" all the time, dressing in flamboyant costumes and performing ritualistic mating ceremonies - in public, no less:
Not that there's anything wrong with that.

None so blind as those who will not see.
I'd be very happy to see. All you need to do is provide a smidgen of evidence for your claim that "homosexual behavior among boys at least is pure fallout from divorce" or I will continue to dismiss it as a ludicrous unfounded opinion.
