I didn't get to play School Sports :-( ...did you?
by tresdecu injust started watching 'friday night lights' .... great show, but it's making me a little bitter!
17 years after high school, i am still bummed i didn't get to play football or baseball.
i knew my elder dad would get busted from the others in the elders club.

Morbidzbaby, I guess every situation is different.
The elders complained to my mom that our participation caused confusion among the other young ones in the hall. They talked with us about several times and then my mom had a conversation with my dad and then my dad had a conversation with the elders. The elders never mentioned anything about to us ever again. As long as we met the national avg in service each month my mom let us join whatever we wanted except cheerleading...because you are only suppose to cheer for God's kingdom.

Yes. My Dad is not a JW so I participated in school sports and clubs. Even traveled with them.
I wish all JW kids had at least one non-JW parent.

"My Bible Lessons" - WT feature for infants 3 and Under
by 00DAD inas many of you probably already know, the wts have a relatively new feature series called "my bible lessons".
this series, which apparently began running earlier this year with the february public edition, is specifically designed for children "ages 3 and under".. caleb, of sparlock fame, makes his wt debut in the "lesson" of the august 1st, 2012 edition of the watchtower, pages 24-25. .
in it, caleb writes a letter to a friend that is sick.

I did not know about "My Bible Lessons"...maybe that's part of what was meant by more to come from the DVD intro. I'm sure the JWs are eating this up.

They need to get their story straight. At the DC two years ago, GB Member Splane said we might here for a while. He said we shouldn't put a time on the last days because it's based on Jehovah's time table. He said mankind could continue on for millions of years before Armageddon but the point is not when will the system end but are we being faithful.
I even started a topic on it...guess a lot can change in 2 years...

Disfellowshipped Facebook friends?
by ldrnomo ini just recently friended someone i knew many years ago.
they have been disfellowshipped for a number of years.
i am currently not da'd or df'd so if the elders wanted could they disfellowship me for having a fb df'd friend?.

it's been a long while since i've posted (i am completely out - wife and kids still in) but thought you might this interesting.. they came home from the district convention yesterday with the new dvd intended for kids.
they popped it in right away and this is what happens:.

What's with the song? Be Blessed?! That's not typical JW speak. Hahaha...they're going start telling each other "Be Blessed!" but it's going to be more special when they say it than when other churches say it.
Did she say "Thank you for obeying"? Who says that?! They are really trying to drill this stuff in deep.

Did anyone notice that he said this just a preview of more to come? Are they going to make a series or full length movie which means there will be no need for kids to watch Disney, Nick or the cartoon channel?
I remember when the WBTS condemned other religions for having animated lessons for kid. In a few more years, they may have a Sunday school...LOL.
The mom's facial expressions are quite creepy. But the conversations were very familiar to those of us raised in it.
Why the heck they chose to give the husband an accent is beyond me. Did they think it would have broader appeal? It's actually distracting.
