Man, there are some other players here, anyone else in working bands??? As for my gear setup, I'm a traditionalist, I like my 335 plugged into one of my tweed amps with a reverb tank, then I use a Danelectro tuned to Open D for slide work, and use a trem and a Fulldrive for slide. I also have a Tele, and a LP with P90's and one with PAF style humbuckers.

I am being stalked (and not by Awake&Watching)
by RollerDave insome of you know that i had an attempted home invasion back in may that i ran off with my trusty scatter-gun.. what i never bothered to mention is that before that, we had a suspicious red honda suv trolling past our driveway several times a day for a week or so before that.. then the attack.. then we had a watcher down in the cul de sack in front of our place whom we photographed and videotaped as she sat watching our home then trolled past our drive peering up at the house.. then the red suv followed my daughter home.. just lately, my proximity alarms went off and i rushed out to see someone running off our property to a late-model red camaro or trans-am and tearing off.
all i could see was the feet and bottom of the vehicle.. now, today, there is a large, suspicious eurovan parked across the entrance of our driveway for like, thirty minutes with a woman matching the description of the watcher in it.. as soon as a young man who lives here gets into his car to drive off, it tears out of here and can't be found.. we have attracted someones interest.. whoever they are, they are incredibly stupid to be so open about it, to give me any indication my daughter is at risk, to think the only eyes watching them are the ones they can see.. to think i am too dumb or stingy to afford night-vision surveillance, or that i would even hesitate to slaughter them like a pig if they threaten my loved ones.. i doubt my watchers are jwd or even jw related, the watcher has been seen to be smoking.
i wondered if it might be related to the ugliness with my mother's poa, but that has concluded and still i am watched.. there was a bit of ugliness surrounding my niece matilda and how they demolished her mom, catlady.

Dave, this is nothing to mess with, even though you're armed. I would certainly involve the police, I hear they're real assholes up in MN anyway, AND also perhaps you should get a license number off the vehicle(s). Also do NOT rule out some sort of hired PI like Sassy aluded to, my company does this all the time when we have a major suit over an injury, etc. Don't know if you're in this position currently but if so, I'd bet that's who it is.

Since these are my FAVES, and not just a list of who is "the best" by some form of technical wizardry or gadgets. Here is mine:
1. Freddy King - Blues god (ever wonder where Clapton got his ideas? Listen to Freddy)
2. Hollywood Fats - West Coast Swing legend
3. BB King - Tasty, great tone, great vibrato, singing like phrasing
4. Duane Allman - THE slide god, and just a great player all around, I still get goose bumps when listening to Fillmore
5. Billy F Gibbons - the early ZZ Top stuff from the 70's is killer, TONE, TONE, TONE!!!! He is my rock and roll hero
6. Bo Ramsey - tone master, always tasty, some of the spookiest slide playing you'll ever hear, and just one of a kind guy
7. Marc Ford - former Black Crowes lead player, and now has his own band
8. Otis Rush - this is the other half of Clapton's ideas
9. Willie Johnson - Howlin Wolf's original lead guitarist, killer stuff here
10. Eric Clapton - I love the guy, and he taught me to dig back into the masters to find the good stuff.
I play in a really busy blues band, so my guys are mostly blues, or bluesy-rock stuff. I also love some of the country cats too, like Pete Anderson, Roy Nichols, and Redd Volkaert, and I'm a big Southern Rock fan too and Classic Rock, so of course you have to add Steve Gaines, Gary Rossington, Ed King, Allen Collins (all Skynyrd boys), Dickey Betts, Warren Haynes, Mike Campbell, Jimmy Page, and Angus Young to the mix also.

Rollerdave returns to the KH!
by RollerDave inwell folks, it had to happen, i returned to the kingdom hall.. or at least to its parking lot.. but not to worry my little jwd'ers, my return was in true rollerstyle!.
i had dropped off my mom a few days previous when she made some remarks that steamed me, i had felt she was talking through her teeth, but i now know i could only have been half right.. she calls and rambles a while, then directs me to keep her teeth safe.
after i got the explanation for this cryptic remark from her i go and investigate..... there, on my bathroom counter, next to the tushie-cleanliness paraphernalia, is an unexplained white plastic container which contained my mother's lower plate.. smelled 'minty.'.

Well my grandpa just died...
by bluesbreaker59 inso, i get the call today from my aunt, who still speaks to me, and she fills me in, and tells me the visitation is friday (i'm not going), and the funeral is saturday.
my dad told her that he wants me to "sit with the family".
i never went to pay my last respects to him or talk to him, because he was an elder forever, and i was told he wouldn't speak to me, so i never went and never sent a card, nothing.

Well I've not been "out" or DF'd for years. My DF announcement just happened in March of 2007. I stopped attending in Dec. 2006. So I'm still getting used to being shunned, living life without my dad, his family, the religion, etc. This is actually my step-mom's dad, but he's been a part of my life since I was around 10, and he was a good, decent man.
This all came so quickly, he was diagnosed with an inoperable brain cancer and died inside of 1 month. He left behind a wife of many, many years, 3 daughters (1 DF'd), and 4 grandkids (2 MS, 1 good dub, 1 DF'd(me)).

The meal thing didn't bother me anyway. Because generally speaking when I attend funerals I don't do the dinner thing anyway. Something about all that death, just makes me lose my appetite. So this really wasn't a big deal for me, plus I have to play that afternoon with my band.

So, I get the call today from my aunt, who still speaks to me, and she fills me in, and tells me the visitation is Friday (I'm not going), and the funeral is Saturday. My dad told her that he wants me to "sit with the family". I never went to pay my last respects to him or talk to him, because he was an elder forever, and I was told he wouldn't speak to me, so I never went and never sent a card, nothing. Now I'm told to come to the funeral and sit by the family, but apparently I'm not supposed to be at the dinner to follow (?)
How does all this stuff work? I have one aunt that will be there (grandpa's daughter) that is also DF'd, and she will also be with the family. I'm just afraid of people coming up to me and telling me to go back to meetings or being "shocked" by my appearance, (I have a goatee now), or my family saying that "they miss me". I miss them too, but I've told them to stop by or give me a ring when in the area, and that I won't go back to meetings "just for family", because that is not what the church teaches is the valid reason for going. I also refuse to have all my thoughts, and actions controlled that strongly again.
So all ye DF'd ones, how'd you handle this sort of situation. The room will be about 85% Dubs, can they speak to me, can I hug my grandma and my stepmom for their loss??? Sorry I'm just a confused young guy.

Does your personality type affect your belief in the divine?
by Paralipomenon inrecently, i was reacquainted with a friend that i knew since i started grade school.
he grew up in the world wide church of god and i as a witness.
neither of us did christmas so often we would find ourselves in the library while the rest of the school did christmas activities.. .

You've seen those stocky, strapping broad shouldered country boys with bright blue eyes and a heart of gold? That's me, no kidding at all. Brown short hair, blue eyes (my best feature), a goatee and mutton chop sideburns. Usually found with guitars or whiskey or both...
If anyone really wants to see me, pm for my myspace.
