thought that would get your attention ladies........folks...the time is coming ..and it is soon ...when i will no longer posting as much (for a wee while).....not because of any strop or fall out with anyone...nor because of some unpaid internet bills (ahem)....but only because the phenomenon that is "big brother" will be starting this wednesday...call me sad/deluded,unhinged or all three....but!!

As witnesses we were indoctrinated to frown upon anything even remotely related to homosexuality. But it is not only, witnesses I'm reading about many fundamentalist religions doing exactly the same. Some of you are Christians now, what is your view of homosexuality now? And no I'm not a lesbian hehehe. But I know of someone who was disfellowshiped because of that. I never stop talking to her even while still a witness.

So how do you marry Bible's fundamentalist ideas of homosexuality with what you believe now if you have another view?

This is also a part of my college study so I will really, really appreciate a good insight here :-)

Movies, can you relax and watch them or are they just useless waste of time

as witnesses we were constantly bombarded with idea how movies are dangerous waste of time and that our time could be better spent.

i know that is exterme view but i still feel guilty when just sitting there and watching a movie like that.

i've spoken with few of my old friends and they feel the same.

Thank you guys, you gave me a lot to think about. And thank you Narkissos, I'm glad I wasn't the only one who felt like that :-)

Reason why I asked was not only because of my witness past, well partly maybe, but I was reading some papers as part of my psychology study into how cult manipulate people to the extent that they loose touch with simple things in life and cannot find a joy in anything normal or anything that is not a part of their mission. Which as you can imagine instantly rang a bell with me :-)

Anyway, I want to post another thread about homosexuality

i recently wrote a letter to every family member i could find an address to which exposed the wt org as the group of fools they actually are!

interesting thing is that not one letter was sent to my home congregation by anyone and the letter circulated to almost every family member i have; so instead of turning me in as i suspected they would do, they are talking about it openly and distributing it to all family members-even ones i couldn't find an address to.

i'm winning this war!

if i had to be tied down i would say disfellowshipping.

totally unnecessary and i really think it spans itself into a lot of other wt policies/mindsets.

New Stupid Assembly Rules

i have heard on this discussion board numerous rules that apply to upcoming a$$emblies.

some are designed to stop people from meeting the opposite sex; others, to make sure everyone is always ready to recruit new members into the scam.

i heard that some km inserts have been urging those whose congregation has cleaning assignments to sit in the section that they are assigned to clean.

Did any of you experience something like that? Are movies really just waste of time or do they serve any useful purpose at all? When I think of it I can't honestly think of any other than to kill some time. What wold you say?

to see that patriarchal and israelite culture adhered to a different standard, we must first understand just how the old testament treats marriage, sexuality and related items.. the old testament view of women as property.

Many Christians will object to this claim, but the proof is found all through the Old Testament.

Are you sure that was only back then, I felt like prperty all along as if there was a price tag hanging around my neck. Which also meant I could be written off when I didn't serve the purpose any more or didn't add enough of margin to my husband ... good article though.
