That only JWs would be there...none of my family.

What did you not like about the paradise?
by reneeisorym ini have always loved it when the seasons changes.
i was always told that we would have temerate weather all of the time and the seasons wouldn't chage.
i always thought i would miss the changing leaves, budding flowers after it has been so cold, and the snow.

Does a person's true personality come out when they're drunk?
by lfcviking ini've heard this been said before that when you have had loads to drink and when your inhibitions are temporarily removed then the real you is exposed.
i.e:.
some people when they've got a skinfull they might start talking about money & bragg about personal financial achievements and how much more money they're going to earn.. some people after a few beers suddenly think they're rocky balboa and think they can take the world on.. others after sinking some g & t's might turn into a crazed sexual tyrannosaurus!!.

I definitely think the true personality comes out, but I can only go by my ex-husband. He was mean sober, but when he was drunk he was even extra mean, nastier and scarier.

Another way to get the word out about jw's?
by carla ini was thinking the other day while i was listening to a finance guy on the radio what would happen if he got a call from an exjw?
the caller could explain that they themself or a family member belonged to a relgious group that believes the end is always near and therefore never saved for retirement.
how can they play catch up now?

NO. I disassociated myself 11 years ago believing it was the "Truth". I had tried for 10 years to be a faithful witness to the best of my ability, living with an unbelieving, abusive husband who couldn't/wouldn't hold down a job and almost killed me when he found out I was taking our kids to a bookstudy at an elder's house on my street. I went out in service once a week on my day off, missed 1/2 of the Sunday meeting twice a month because I worked every other weekend because I was the one supporting my family and it was never good enough. One day I just gave up and left hating God. I did not even know it was a cult until almost a year ago when I joined a group for ex-JW women. They told me to read Crisis of Conscience. I was flabbergasted and blown away. Reading that book took away all the fear and guilt. I no longer hate God, but doubt His existence which may be worse...I don't know. I now consider the JW religion to be the "Lie" and am so mad at myself for ever buying into it. I feel betrayed.

Purps, I know how you feel. I used to be a nurse in a family run nursing home that was sold to a corporation. After 5 years the corporation had run the lovely nursing home into into the ground and destroyed it's reputation. One by one all the decent nurses left and were replaced by agency nurses. When I left I was the MDS nurse. MDS=Medicare paperwork required by the government and from which the nursing home derives it's Medicare reimburshment. It was a horrendous, impossible job and after working 60 hours a week in the nursing home and at least 10 hours more a week at home to get caught up on my paperwork for 2years I left. The year before I left the corporation went bankrupt, it's CFO was under indictment for not paying payroll taxes. I wasdivorced with 4 children to support and no job lined up either. I just couldn't take it anymore and wish I had had the guts to just walk out without notice as well. I had worked there 16 years.
I hope you find a new and better job with people who appreciate what an asset you will be to their company. I did.
