Most of the pioneers I know could not pioneer without the help of those of means. I actually do not know of any pioneer that does not get help from others. I am sure that some have their own means I just never met any of them. Usually pioneers can't take care of their own affairs so they think they can take care of other peoples affairs. Most of the pioneers I know and have known ,and I am 61 years old, have all had some kind of mental problems, and definetly financial problems. I think they pioneer for the status thing. They can be better than others in least something.

What was wrong with the 'occultic green' bibles?

i understand (rightly or wrongly) that the 'green' had occult connotations that some did not approve of.. is this true and were the early jws too involved with hidden, esoteric, occult meaning that 'others' found uncomfortable and so they had to go to the sobre black bibles?.

I agree with snowbird, it was just another thing to make jws different than other relegions. All those things that was to show that jws are different just made them look like loons. As far as I was concerned, it defeated the whole preaching thing when you look like a nut, the suit and tie thing being the dumbest of all. A lot of people at door considered it disrespectful to have a bible in that colour. Sometimes you have to consider other peoples beliefs about things if you want to ever talk to them. For instance the sihk religion considers it taboo to place a sacred book on the floor including the bible.

when did the truth bcome the truth

the things that i noticed is that you can hold the discussion for about 10 minutes while they try to answer your questions then they get agitated and then angry, they refuse to talk anymore and tell you that they know it is the truth no matter what so called proof you have, and that is all just apostate talk.

The things that I noticed is that you can hold the discussion for about 10 minutes while they try to answer your questions then they get agitated and then angry, they refuse to talk anymore and tell you that they know it is the truth no matter what so called proof you have, and that is all just apostate talk. The one thing that I tell them all is that rutherford through the 40's wrote practically everything, ran everything, there was no governing body and no organization as we know it today. Almost everything he came up with as the so called truth is now considered apostate but yet it was considered the truth. If you tried to read any of his crap to any jw they will tell you it is apostate, in fact they won't let you read much to them. Then my question to them is 'when did the truth became the truth' , it is a simple question, but I have never got an answer from any of them, they just go into that crazy glazed over look.
All jws will come up with some things about the society if you give them the freedom to talk, even doubts, but they tell you that jehovah will straighten it out, but in the 61 years I've been associated with the society nothing has ever been so called straightened out. In my experience and the reflection of my past experience I truly realize that jws are mentally brainwashed. You just can't get through to a closed mind. I still think that those of us that have and are comming out were never completely turned into the robots that we were supposed to be.
I have become frustrated with them and now I just leave stuff out in the open underlined so that they might accidently see it. My wife and I are networked with our computers so I have plenty of articles that she can access. This is one of the methods that the jws use so I thought I would try it. I think most jws are noisy enough and curious enough to check it out if they think no one is watching. (I know my wife is, ha,ha).
I personally think the society will go on in some fashion because there are those people that just naturally flock to this kind of religion.
Any way I thought I would put these thoughts in writing, sometimes I do this just to see what it looks like after I write it down as I am not much a writer. I like to read what everyone else has to say I guess.

the wts needs to stop spending so much cash.. they have real estate but once sold and the proceeds used it offers no more value.. they need to simplify, simplify, simplify (and isn't that the mantra they recite each time they make an organizational change?).
they could: push more and more printing to the individual publishers in order to cut down on printing costs (this may only apply to developed countries but it still would result in significant savings).

pioneers) have all the little wt extras, such as the wt year agenda, the wt removable book covers, bible with their name printed on the leather cover, the rv book with the little tower logo on it, "pens from patterson" etc.

My wife ordered all that crap, and still have it and has never been used. I think alot of people get this stuff to try to add some sort of flavor to the **** the society prints out.

The society either dileberately writes this crap to be ambiguous to confuse the jws or different writers have come to their own conclusions and do not share their ideas with each other. The more of the literature you read the more you realize it is one of the other.
The good thing about being out is that you can compare their information that none of the information matches up.

My son was cheated out of his wages when he was a teenager by so called brothers . Three different brothers three different times. I educated my self in contract law including labor law because of being a contractor, so I worked with my son on each occasion to get his money. Each brother had to face the labor board, they ended up paying dearly. No more was heard from them again. No crooked brother wants to face you legally, they could end up disfellowshiped and I use that to my advantage. I personally also had problems working with brothers when I was young, except my dad did things differently, he went to the person personaly and collected the money if you know what I mean. It is best not to do buisness with so called brothers.
The worst kind of dishonesty is when some one clains to be rightious but lies and cheats anyway.

I was told I have diabetes today
by noni1974 inmy doctor told me i have it.
i have to test my blood to see if it can be contorlled by diet or if i have to take meds for it.
for the next 2 weeks i have to test my blood 2 times a day.

Stay completely away from processed foods. Educate yourself as to what is in you food. Doughnuts and other pastries are not only are addictive they are deadly. If you stop them for a few days , which is hard to do, you will finally lose the addiction. Stay away from alchohol. I have been diabetic for many, many years now. I finally learned not to cheat it does not work well for you. The best I ever did was when I was on the atkins diet. I had to actually quit taking all my prescriptions, but then I started cheating again and was back where I started. I am back on a modified atkins diet now and now am getting back to normal again. The blood test thing just finally becomes second nature and you don't pay much attention to it. I worked in construction with this condition for many years and I did just fine. It never really bothered me that much, I think it is just how you look at things. You will find that you will that you are going to learn things about food that makes the whole thing very interesting. Good luck to you.

The governing body just has a thing about women. I hate the way women are treated in this organization. The women would probably do a better job of running the organization anyway . I hate it when women put up with men who treat them like they are inferior. When my wife and I first got married we went to a get together and for the first time I realized that the women would go get the food for their husbands. My wife asked me what she could get for me, and I said that was able bodied and could get my own food and have been for 43 years. To me there is nothing dummber looking than a woman waiting hand and foot on a man just sitting on his ass doing abusulutely nothing.
My wife and I are partners in the buisness of life. She does the finances because otherwise we would be destitute. We are different but we are equal. I have alot of people ask what my secret to a happy and long marrage is, I tell them in a serious but jokingly manner,'just do what your wife tells you to do and do it with a smile on your face, it will not kill you.
