You have to ask yourself . why do people want to govern you? Because they are wonderful and

want to help you? All you are to the government is a commodity. If politicans are so great

why don't they work for nothing or at least for an equal amount to the average citizen.

They are nice to your face while they got their hand in your pocket. They will never reduce

the amount you pay the government otherwise they wouldn't have a paycheck.

All through history the population means nothing, only money and power. Sure there may

may be a few decent people but they don't last . History has one major repeating theme,

'the people be damned'.

The homeless sister and the $60,000 RV

i was in a congregation once which had a large number of desperately poor people in it.

there was an elderly sister, she lived near me, a sweet woman, who became homeless because her ramshackled old house caught fire.

around that same time one of the overseers (imagine that using a slavery term), i forget if it was district or circuit overseer, came to town wanting a new rv/truck combo.

on their face when they start their meetings, service crap. It is a conversation ender.

This has always been a sore point with me. In my experience the jws are the most non charitable

people I know in general. Those that don't have don't get and those that do have do get.

So much for a spiritual paradise.

i am feeling sick after reading the question box - it's so cold and unfeeling toward those who use the telephone to listen to congregation meetings.. .

the wts desire to control their weakest members - the infirm and chronically ill - by guilting them into "putting forth the effort to be personally present " at the kingdom hall is disgusting.. .

they are heartless bastards.... ________________________________________.

Man Vs. Woman---The Organization's View

women in the "truth" are considered lower than men or even male children!

for years, females couldn't give talks in the ministry school.

now, interperters who are female must wear a head covering as if they were teaching, mot merely repeating for fear they might offend the angels!.

This is one of biggest gripes. I was in and associated with this so called relegion for 60 years. Anybody that

that says women are not treated like crap is a lying sack of crap. At an early age I seen the women

jumping up a waiting on their husbands like servants at get to gethers. Alot of the women still

do it today. I,ve asked alot of the men if their legs were broken. It is prettty bad when a man can,t

get his own food. Women can,t do the literature, magazines, etc. but they can dang sure clean

the bathrooms. They tried that with my wife I always told them that the men could do it, it would

be good for them. The bible does not teach this crap , it is just comes from the idiots , yes I said

idiots, from bethel. As far as paul , that was just his own predjucice comming out. Jesus never

said any such thing.

But after all that I still think there are two kinds of women in the organization. The ones that go

along with that crap and the ones like my wife who just tell me to kiss my but when I get

to thinking too much of myself. Most women run the house and the money. I tried it and did not

too good of job of it.

Sorry but I just needed to say that.

Impossible to concentrate!

looking back on my time as a jw i found that i sat at the meetings just willing the time to go past and just trying to get through it.

there would be a blip were i would concentrate on getting my answer in, just so that others didn't look down on me even more than they already did, but after that i would go back to sleep.. the thing is i was a very serious jw, and really did want to pay attention... i just found it to be impossible, 5 mins at the max and then drift away.... i even perfected the art of staring intently at the speaker while having my mind very much elsewhere.

and i wonder now how many jw's are actauly listening at all?.

If the society could bottle this crap, they could have the best sedative in the world. They wouldn,t

have to worry about money anymore.

I know that very few people pay attention . I used to ask some of them if they knew the name

of the talk or what it as about. They just drew a blank. I did it to my wife all the time and she could

never remember a thing. Of course they could have told me anything because I dang sure didn.t

remember .

Hospitality experiences during public talk trips

a couple days ago i started having these flashbacks of back in the day when i was 17 or so and was a frequent outgoing public speaker.

believe it or not back then i was so naive in the fullest sense of the word, and none of the signs that i encountered then kicked in until years later.. i obviously could go on and on about the impressions and demeanor that i received from the big shots (elders, ms's) from these halls.

a couple that i remember were for ex., one time while visiting a congregation in southwest co i politely waited around to see if any of the elders or a head of a house hold would approach me and invite me for hospitality and tired of waiting around i decided to make that 5 hour solo trip back home.

tsar robles, yes they were at least hospitable. There are alot people in the all the congreations I have been in

that are very nice people, but they seem to be those that are considered weak. But they

were not self righteous. I just never could put up with self righteous people.

real fake friends

i wondered how did your "best" jw friends react to when you told them you're leaving wts?.

after i found out all i needed to know i called up my old friend who i thought was a good friend but i knew he was a die hard dub and i told him to write down a book and read it.

i was refering to russell's thy kingdom come.

I have had only a couple of true friends in my life. Both when I as young. The one had a few

health problems and was overweight but he could play sports like a pro. No one but me

had anything to do with him. They sure missed out on lot.

True friends do not judge each other. I have fond memories of him.

My other friend was when I was around 15. Was a jw if you want to call him that .

I think alot of people call people friends just because they know them. I just call

these people acquaintances. But my best friend later in life became my wife.

Where I was they must have been hard up for speakers because I started visiting other congregations

giving the public talks at the age of 16. I been told by many that I seem to talk directly to them, which

I think had to do with my non dependence of my outline. I was also confortable speaking to groups

of people. But I think the main reason They liked my talks was because I always ended about 6 or

7 minutes short. I think that was to far back for any hospitality thing.

Sisters crying in the kitchen/lobby

years ago i was at the revamp of a kingdom hall.

one of the sisters told me that since they got rid of the kitchen it was so much better, becuase there were always sisters out there crying!

and now they have no place to go, so they just have to stay in the hall and listen to the meeting!.

Everytime I had to go to the meetings I felt like crying. And as the meeting draged on And the boredom

was causing great pain and discomfort I felt like crying.

Yes we had our fair share of criers There was one who cryed everytime she commented. Another

cried when other people commented.

Then of course there are those who cry because they are so happy to be in the spiritual paradise of Gods

Kingdom.

I must be missing something...

i keep hearing this chatter regarding a new rule regarding the holding of your spouse's hand during a congregation prayer, which, i agree, would be ridiculous.

but where did this rumor start, or was it just some free-lancing elder expressing his own opinion, which escalated to this ripple effect that i see here?.

i haven't seen any less holding of hands at the kh i go to....

First off you can,t go by me, but I,m not a huggy, kissy, handholding type of person with anyone but

my wife. I was always unconfortable

with it. I don,t know why, and don,t care why. There was always some sisters always hugging

everyone when I was kid, and now it just seems to be worse. But I make it very clear that

they ain,t going to do it to me. I nipped that it the bud along time ago. If they did not get

the hint I would just hold my hand up and say hold it right there we are not going to hug.

As far as the prayer part, I consider it private between god and me. I also won,t let the elders pray

when they come to visit, I mean give me a break , they don,t think my prayers can be heard

any more that theirs. I just tell them that I can pray for myself thankyou.

I have some jws actually ask me why I don,t pray at meals. I tell them because I feel that is

a showy display, and what buisness is it of theirs anyway.

But,,, If people want to paw all over each other while praying that is their buisness, and I don,t have

to look. In other words I do my thing and they can do their thing.
