  Does parents recover?

  i am sitting here watching a video from youtube.

  about children who have died, because their parent refused to give them blood.

  it's awfull.. but what i am thinking about, does anybody know what become of any of those parents?

  There was only ever one case in our cong, a little girl had leaukemia (sp?). Thankfully her father was not a witness and she got a blood transfusion and lived. Her father was not a nice man, he was very violent, in the end he killed his wife but he saved his daughters life. None of the family are witnesses any more.

  I don't know any other cases, not even in other congregations in the area.

  You seem a really nice person. I am glad you are helping people who were abused in Denmark like Silent Lambs helps in the US.

  I don't think that it's so much a school yard bully but people with very differing viewpoints all trying to put their point across in their own way and everyone misunderstanding everyone else. There are some trollers but some are jsut labelled as being trolls because their way of putting their point across is not quite so well-honed. I kinda like reading the discussions but get tired if everyone starts bashing someone in particular and don't bother reading any more.

  has anyone in the uk sent a "subject access request" under the data protection act 1998 to the bethel or the local congregation?.

  i'm very tempted to as this will mean they have to provide any personal information they hold.. i was disfellowshipped, reinstated, appointed and stepped down.

  i'd like to know what information is held on record in regard to these incidents.. s8..

  I am considering something similar but I am not da or df. do you think that by my asking for my records that i will end up df?

  I have sent an e-mail on an info website re: data protection asking if I have a right to my files.

  Will let you know what their response is.

  ok i started thinking tonight which is always a bad idea after i've had a long, really pressuring, day at work.

  but i've been in this sort of confused uncomfortable state lately about whether i believe in god or not.

  i finally got past the actual guilt of having these questions because i knew that was just what was drilled into my skull in my past.

  I don't really know what I think - hubby is big atheist and a good debater in putting his thoughts across - as I find it hard to formulate what I think in a sentence let alone debate I try not to think about it instead.

  i was in the jw religion for 20 years of my life, baptized, almost ms, i recently left, i am 20 right now.

  Hi sexyk and welcome to the forum.

  alot of people here have experianced your situation to a greater or a lesser extent. it is truly horrible to be shunned by those you love, just remember that they are probably very scared of repurcussions should they have contact with you because "the jw religion is at worst a cult and at best a high control group" (that thought is ripped off from a post on JWD that I read, sorry to the author, i don't know who you are to give you credit!). it can get better with time. let them know that your door is always open and that you love them and will always be willing to speak to them, if they won't answer your calls, try an e-mail or letter, they may read those.

  i personally know what it is like to feel that you cannot trust anyone, your trust has been abused by the borg and you have been taught/brainwashed into thinking that "worldly" people are untrustworthy too, so no wonder you feel lost.

  just remember that things can get better, people here have survived and you can survive too. Talk to your gf - she may not like you being possesive but if she can understand why then you will be able to work through it. i spend ages pushing my partner away but he could see that there were reasons why and just kept on showing how worthy of my trust he is.

  dannies = hands, usually spoken to a child, give me your dannies to cross the road, or you've got cold little dannies.

  (i had never heard of it but everyone i asked had, so obviously i'm just weird)

  i got some but i always find it hard to understand hip-hop/rap stuff anyhow (i sound so old lol) regardless of whether is a p***-take or the proper thing. loved the chav thing that was going on though!

  welcome motherof2, wow twins. my grandma on my dad's side was a twin, I hope i don't have any, im too lazy!

  it's a real shame that a religion that tell us all how loving it is, is in fact so unloving as to make it's members feel unworthy of life in general.
