Why Are More JWs Claiming to be Anointed?

most jws i know claim they are happy being in the great crowd.

they'd rather live on a paradise earth and pet lions than go to heaven.. heaven is a place they can't relate to, a place where they don't expect their friends and loved ones to be.. so why are more and more jws claiming to be of the anointed?.

aren't they looked down upon as if they are crazy, proud, ignorant, or engaging in apostate thinking?.

I believe the reason more JW's are partaking ( the number goes up about 1,000 each year the last 10-12 years or so ) so now what is there ? About 16,000 worldwide ?

The real reason is the WT Society about 10 - 12 years ago changed their teaching which once was that the door had been closed to more anointed being collected by 1935 . They used to teach the number had been sealed, " finished " , " done " by then . They opened it back up in about 2005 or so when they started getting younger and younger GB members who would need to be considered " anointed " in order to be GB members. So it was a convenient way to claim they had " new light " that God Jehober had opened up to receiving more anointed- when in reality it was " new light " for the convenience of getting these younger GB members stamped as " anointed " - so no one would question anything.

But the truth is- as many of you state here- by opening it back up- it invited every Tom, Dick, Harry , and crazy person to claim that THEY too are anointed. But as we know WT Society leaders are very adept at shooting themselves in their own foot. Not much thought goes into this alleged " new light " - other than " how can it benefit the WT GB and WT leaders to keep the organization afloat " . My 2 cents

Can the GB be directed by Holy Spirit and at the same time be not inspired ?

yes god directs our writings but they're not inspired, so gods directions are staggered and overlapping , so the genuine innocent believing jw has a wonderful life of overlapping bullshit.

so next time you meet a jw priest ask them what is the difference between being directed and inspired, then i promise you will hear first hand an example of overlapping bull..

The GB is neither directed by holy spirit or inspired. If they are inspired at all to be anything - it's to be self important assholes

when you think of the language used within the jehovah's witness organization in such a closed society environment in how the wt society promotes almost absolute " trust " in the elders , the governing body, and trust even in the " friends " in the congregation themselves- is it any wonder that unscrupulous child molesters can enter any congregation pretending to be " spiritual " and take advantage of unsuspecting children or the parents ?

think about it : an individual is judged as a " spiritual " person within the jw organization based on what wt functions or duties they are good at performing.

VIDIOT- Exactly. If there was more honesty and transparency in the WT organization - perhaps a child abuse policy that actually protects children might work. But WT leaders don't want to be transparent- they want to deceive

DOUBTFULLY YOURS- I respectively disagree with you. If the WT Society made it mandatory for elders to first, foremost , and automatically report child abuse offenses to police authorities - I'd tend to agree with you- but WT leaders in the legal department try to HIDE child abuse crimes from police authorities by INSISTING that elders report to WT legal first. So it fosters distrust in a child abuse victims JW parents towards the elders and WT Society because the abused child's parents KNOW elders try to keep these sex crimes " in-house " . It's an abuse of power by WT leaders AND elders to keep child abuse on the down low.

And as regards parents/families trying to be more protective of their young ? How in the hell can they do that as JW's when elders or ministerial servants are assigned to work out in service with younger congregation members in car groups ? There have been many child abuse crimes committed in JW land where an adult brother was assigned to take young ones with him- then he took them to his own house to molest them ! That happened in the Candace Conti case. And the stupid WT leaders order it's members to OBEY those taking the lead , i.e. Ministerial servants & elders- so WTF ?

It's an abuse of power- plain and simple. There is TOO MUCH trust expected from children and congregation members in it's leaders and too much coverup when these leaders do wrong. It fosters lack of trust and secrecy which fosters conditions making child abuse easier to occur

ORPHAN CROW- Thanks for posting that. Absolutely disgusting that they'd have a three and a half year old boy reading about rape at all. Personally- I think it's disgusting to have a 3 year old boy in the ministry school anyway- but especially with that subject matter. This organization is insane. Poor kid
