Just curious about how faithful women are these days. Anybody know?

so being someone who is not, however still believes around 70% of what the jw's talk about as far as the bible goes, ignoring the fact of no blood transfusions, shunning, etc.

wt doctrines, i got this question.

anybody really know how faithful 'worldly' (i use this term lightly 😉) women are these days?

Hi, Lostpup. This is a sore subject for me - like "don't get me started" Too late...

I have never been a jw or religious at all as an adult. I married Flipper, a born in jw who had left. He has always been respectful and kind.

In my 61 years I have never been unfaithful and don't know many women who have. Have never been promiscuous. I have no problem with premarital sex - a couple needs to know if they are sexually compatible. I would not want my child to find out after marriage that they married a sexual sadist for example.

What has grated on my nerves over the years is the prejudicial attitude of some religious men that I am probably promiscuous because I am not religious. I'm talking about inappropriate remarks, leering and disrespect.

When I was in my 20's working in a restaurant one of the Christian businessmen groups members asked me if my breasts were real. This was on his way out from their prayer breakfast. Just one example. Young women get the same crap from wordly men but they are usually drunk or just stupid.

When the jw elders came to our door to hassle Flipper, one of them leered at me the whole time. It was nauseating.

I've heard of a whole lot of cheating and sexual misbehavior in the jws. Wife swapping for Christ's sake. I've never heard of wife swapping anywhere else, except for Hollywood swingers in the 60's.

I've hung out with people who are in no way conservative or religious and most have been more well behaved and trustworthy than you seem to think.

So my point: If you want to have a nice loving relationship please have respect for the women you meet. If they turn out to not rate respect, move on.

A Comforting Thought About Watchtower

they peaked in the form they were, i believe they were already falling apart in ways, but from the outside and to the majority r&f, things likely still seemed on the up and up.

browsing through the boards and just keeping my finger on the pulse of what's happening, this organization will never again be what it was.

Hi, FMF. At Uncle Flip's mom's wake recently it was interesting to observe some of the jws.

Not sure, it was subtle, but I sensed that some of the jws noticed and were surprised that the non and ex jws were being kinder and more sincere than some of the jws.

Maybe it's a start.

but let us take away the instances where someone was accused of child abuse and then later put back into a position of authority, such as an elder or an ms. let us just take the cases where a regular publisher or even an appointed person, with no previous accusation of child abuse has come up against that person.

Vidiot, so true, especially in the US. These religions get away with a lot.

I can't count the times someone who is not religious has said they hire religious people because they are honest. Facepalm for sure...

My parents' neighbor orders all kinds of crap online from Jim Bakker's latest enterprise - because he is a Christian he is to be forgiven and trusted. We are talking enough money spent to fill half of a room with the stuff. Some of it is freeze dried food for when the apocalypse comes. If that's not from Bakker it's from the other tv preacher she supports. And then she donates.

As Outlaw says, the jws will make excuses for the most blatant crimes - same reason. They are jws so god will forgive them and make them behave.

Richard, to actually move on, one would work through the state of denial - and admit just how bad the Watchtower organization is. That you were a part of and supported it maybe for years. Not easy.

With just a little research you will find it very similar to other destructive cults - kind of like Scientology on tranquilizers. Human beings have been attracted to cults since the dawn of time, it seems. And have escaped.

Many here have moved on quite nicely in their personal lives. They come here to support others who are coming out and going through the trauma of being shunned, and of having been duped. There are some wonderful friendships that have been formed here - some (about 40 this year) travel long distances to meet every summer for a campout. All of them are kind, honest and great friends.

Another reason to come here is to educate jw lurkers and current members about how dishonest, heartless and destructive the watchtower is.

Some posters showed up here suicidal and have made it through to a good free life.

If that's not for you, good luck on your journey. Some here will be very blunt because there is really not time to waste being polite about the watchtower. You are welcome here - if you can take some heat in disagreement. This thread you started has been a good one.

Richard Oliver. It's not complicated. Of course you can make it complicated with debate tactics and statistics and all manner of word salad. And "facts".

Child abuse is horrible. Any decent and honest organization or person would do all they could to protect children from this.

Piss on the letter of the law excuses. This is a simple common sense issue. If the country you are in do not have laws to protect children, and there are no authorities to report to, then you work within your organization to rectify the problem. Yeah, can you picture the watchtower forming a charity to educate the public about preventing child abuse?

It is such a waste of time to go back and forth trying to excuse the watchtower's reprehensible behavior. Their transgressions far outweigh any good they do - they are dangerous.

We can vote on the issue but it is also effective to educate anyone who will listen about this problem in these innocent appearing organizations. Then they can vote also.

Quit playing around like this is a debate. The emperor does not have new clothes.

As for the laws of other countries - The watchtower SHOULD very simply do the right thing.

It's not like they have much regard for the laws of any country over their own rules.

They don't hesitate to impose ridiculously abusive rules on their membership in any country - they could easily make rules to protect jw children in the countries that do not protect children with laws.

That is, if they wanted to.

It is and has been the watchtower's standard operating procedure allow pedophiles access to children, and to mislead the membership about the abundance of pedophiles in the religion. They promote the arrogant belief that joining their superior religion can cure these creeps.

They have shown more concern for pedophiles than for children - they will not keep them from participating because of something in the bible. (Sorry - I give no credibility to the bible's barbaric bs). Oh, they are supposed to be accompanied in the door to door work - they can still scope out children in the congregation and in the community.

Compare their concern for children: they have habitually told victims of child abuse to "wait on Jehovah" rather than report to authorities or to get psychological counseling. That jehovah will erase those traumatic memories in the paradise.

They are telling the membership that the news reports are all "Lies put out by satan".The membership is told to discount anything worldly and to believe and obey the watchtower even if it doesn't make sense in human logic.

Flipper's long time elder brother and his wife recently laughed it off as nonsense when he brought up the problem. Something like "Oh, that again - it's the news and rumors blowing it all out of proportion".

And that is just one of the serious abuses by this religion.

There is good reason to focus on the watchtower.

Hey BELIEVER- Screw your 1975 WT Society justification crap . I just had an older JW parent die who had been told since the 1950's that she would NOT die in this system of things. Guess what ? She did not live forever in a paradise earth , she won't grow younger, she won't be healthy with no sickness and pain. Her sickness and pain brought about her death. And now many of us are sad she is gone. Stop making excuses for a criminal organization bent on giving people false hopes and illusions in order to control their lives and use up their money. Do research and free your mind from WT lies and indoctrination

J.W. Elders Are Knowingly Complicit

WT Society has ALWAYS gone beyond " the things written " in the book they claim to follow- the Bible. When I used to be in the Witnesses - I even saw elders go beyond what even the WT Society printed as instructions on how to counsel JW's within the congregation. I could count hundreds of times I witnessed personally elders giving their own personal opinions as counsel to rank & file JW's and it caused these JW's MUCH grief. Because the counsel was idiotic !

And here's where the hypocrisy comes in - if elders gave out faulty counsel or wrong counsel to JW's - the WT Society would make excuses for these elders saying " they're just imperfect men " and instruct rank & file JW's not to " speak injuriously of these " glorious ones " (elders ) " - yet on the other side of the coin if a rank & file JW doesn't follow the WT Society's guidelines or " disobeys " they get jumped on and are considered " weak " in the faith. But what about the stupid elder that didn't follow proper procedures ? They are not even counseled. This is one of the main reasons I left this JW organization- there are different rules for those in power than the normal rank & file JW . I left cold turkey and never went back when I was treated in an unjust manner
