  all 23 steps apply to the wts.

  its awful knowing i was tricked and how subtly it was done without me even knowing.

  Guilt trip

  did anyone have other jws try to guilt trip them when they were leaving or if you were making a decision which jws felt was wrong but wasn't unscriptural?

  i'm getting people guilt tripping me to eventually get back with my emotionally, spiritually and mentally abusive husband who i'm separated from.

  i feel sick at the thought of getting back together and putting myself through that nightmare again but i'm being told its what jehovah wants coz he doesn't want families to be apart.

  JRJW- AS you mentioned on your other thread - you are on the right track researching mind control and the B.I.T.E. model . I agree with Desirous of Changes suggestion and please read all 3 of Steve Hassan's books on cult mind control. It will help strengthen your resolve that indeed, YES - you are doing the right thing in exiting and staying away from the JW influence and people. You'll learn by reading these books that the two main weapons that all mind control cults use to control people are FEAR and GUILT. It is the two legs that all mind control cults and organizations walk on.

  It takes time to rebuild our personal self esteem after we exit the Witnesses because through guilt tactics - the WT Society makes us not trust our own thinking and judgment on issues, giving out fear inspiring threats and guilt of false things that will happen to us if we leave the JW's. Like : " you'll die at Armageddon " , " you'll lose your sense of direction " , You'll become a bad person shooting up drugs and having orgies " - all of which are false and not true. Those things don't happen to people who leave the Witnesses ! Usually people start having the happiest years of their lives !

  It takes time to get that strength and inner fortification within your mind JrJW. Give yourself that time and do the work of informing yourself by reading Steve Hassan's books. And other books addressing breaking free of mind control. Our minds were pre-programmed with WT Society drivel and indoctrination scaring us needlessly- it takes time to re-program our inner self. Please for your sake and the sake of your daughter - take the time to do that my friend. You won't regret it in the long range view. Might be hard at first, but you'll be glad later you did it.   what big change could bring down the watchtower?

  Either a federal investigation into their extortion tactics of rank and file congregations / or misuse of billions of $$$$ of funds might bring them down. A federal investigation of child abuse crimes / getting access ( finally ) to the database file which holds 23,000 names of JW pedophiles - then exposing that the WT Society appointed thousands high ranking JW men into positions of power all the while knowing those names were among the 23,000 on the database file list. That would prove intent and knowing collusion.

  Or, as some have stated the " no blood transfusion " JW deaths, especially of minor children might wake up the government to investigate abuses of JW members within the cult with thousands of them dying from refusing blood transfusions. I'm thinking it may be any of those 3 things that might eventually bring WT Society down :

  1. WT Society extortion of people financially

  2. Aiding and abetting church leaders willfully hiding child molesters

  3. Forcing, coercing , or pressuring members to refuse blood transfusions resulting in thousands of needless deaths.

  Any of these 3 things or perhaps a combination of them may really hasten WT Society's demise

  JRJW- Good for you that you're reading Hassan's information regarding cults ! I highly recommend reading all of his books . Very informative and helpful to anybody exiting any kind of high control or mind control organization. In fact, Hassan's books helped me even more than Ray Franz's books I believe.   JOHN DAVIS- Well, you must either be a JW or a WT apologist. Your sense of " reasoning " ( if you can call it that ) is absolutely ridiculous.

  Your statement, " I understand that people have a problem with the fact that he was reinstated and allowed to go door to door , but that is HIS RIGHT to practice his religion. " Uh-huh. And if by practicing that " right " he happens to start a Bible Study with a minor child that evolves into a child molestation session your view is " oh well he's practicing HIS form of religion " ? That's idiotic. Don't you understand there should be laws that restrict a known child molester from having close proximity to children ? There already ARE laws which produce information and photos of known registered sex offenders on Megan's law to inform the public of WHO these offenders are ! How on earth would you be able to assert in whatever universe you exist- that it's fine for a random child molester to call on minor children uninvited to their doors ? You're flipping crazy.

  Also your quote, " Fourth , is this thought that the authorities were never notified when it is certainly possible for one to surmise that authorities were notified . " O.K. What kind of reasoning is this ? Circular ? And I might state it's entirely possible the other way around ! It's also possible that the authorities were NEVER notified and for one to surmise this is true as well. At least in some of these particular cases.

  You live in an alternate universe dude, where your version of " freedom of religion " fosters criminal behavior- actually aiding and abetting child molesters. Wake up and smell reality

  Anyone struggle to find meaning in life?

  just wondering if this is a common thing for you guys and girls?

  when i left the jws it was hard to make a connection with people, much of the time i felt that whatever they wanted to talk about just didn't seem relevant/deep/meaningful.

  i find myself filtering my mind to get to a level with others (small talk mostly).

  Good JW- I totally agree. It's a wonderful thing actually having a couple days on the weekend to chill and relax when many of us didn't used to have that chance for years inside the Witnesses . Freedom of movement is sweet indeed ! Take care, Peace out, Mr. Flipper

  Hey Good JW, I understand your feelings as I was a born-in JW from birth ( exited 14 years ago at age 44 ) . In my years after escaping from Jehovah's Witnesses I've come to the conclusion that at least for myself- that the meaning of life is living each and every day to the full with love and spreading good vibes enjoying living in the ' here and now ' .

  What I mean by that is as JW's we were always conditioned in our minds to think " this life is temporary " - or - " this is not the real life, the real life will be living forever in paradise ". Which is absolute BS in my opinion. This life we are living IS the real life ! There most probably never will be a " forever " so we have to make the best of each and every day we live in this life- it's the only life we have !

  So I've enjoyed pursuing interests like playing music, writing songs, hiking in the mountains, photography, other exciting things to do in life on the side while of course still running my business as a self employed business owner. We have to take life by the reins and grab it in a positive way caressing and cherishing each and every day . My view of life at the end of my life someday will be much like the Beatles final words on their final Abbey Road album - " And in the end the love you take, is equal to the love you make. " We will only get out of life - what we put back into it regards to relationships in love of others, love of ourselves, respecting others rights, while pursuing our life interests all the while taking an interest in others as well as always learning something new until the day we die.

  I feel I'll never get to a point where " I know it all " - I don't believe that's possible. But we can stay engaged in learning and experiencing new things in life along this magnificent journey until the end. Kind of how I see things

  Thanks for bringing this out Barbara. I notice on another thread Newsweek has put forth this information as well. It's so important to get this exposure of the WT Society's criminal negligence out into mainstream media again so the public will be informed. It's high time for WT Society to pay for it's crimes against children that the leaders enable

  It's high time for the WT Society to be exposed in a huge way in mainstream media again for these crimes against minor children. The concealing from police authorities of sexual abuse crimes against minors from sex offenders within this JW organization is just disgusting , horrific, and inexcusable. It's high time for the FBI in America to investigate this cult and it's abuses against children. Of course the FBI has it's hands full pursuing another well known abuser of another kind right now who runs the country. But I'm glad mainstream media is picking this up - thanks for posting
