the Guardians of Doctrine - What was your view of GB 1.0?
by berrygerry inwhen i was an all-in, younger, somewhat uber-dub - i envisioned the governing body as spending 16 to 18 hours a day at the bethel library, with their noses in the bible and associated research books.
sky-j was propelling his holy spirit directly at them, maybe opening the book to the right page or paragraph, and zap, new light.. when i learned that these dudes only met on wednesday mornings, for as little as 10 minutes, and spent the rest of their time managing and traveling, it was quite a letdown.. anyone have such thoughts of our guardians of doctrine?.

I always thought most of them were arrogant , pompous assholes. " Legends in their own mind ". And then when the likes of Ted Jaracz came along- in time I came to believe these WT GB men should be brought up on criminal charges of " crimes against humanity ". In other words- I was never impressed -

When you really analyze this " press release " from the WT Society- it really is unprecedented in their 137 year history since 1879 - I believe. To publicly in a major news publication come out and offer condolences to ANY famous celebrity's friends or family - JW or no JW. At least by name.
My theory is this, two things are happening here I think :
1. WT Society is trying to cast itself in a " positive " light in a PR and marketing way to the public due to the fact that most of any media coverage of the WT organization is always negative- especially with regards to the last several years of WT child abuse scandals making national media either in print or television, or Internet broadcasts.
2. The other point is if in fact he WAS having to rely on subscription pain medicine for his health and refused to get hip surgery due to the " no blood " WT policy- it served as a good excuse for the WT Society to say that they were unaware of Princes condition or health situation- thus exonerating the WT Society of any responsibility for medical decisions Prince might have made for himself.
WT Society comes out appearing scot free to the public of any responsibility for what happened to Prince. In THEIR mind anyway. Kind of how my wife and I see this after talking it over

I just made a comment on the People magazine link in the comments section so as to warn the public concerning the dangers of WT and JW mind control and how it's compared to the " Stockholm Syndrome " as JW's are taught to support even unethical behavior by WT leaders. Of course I also shared my condolences to Princes family & friends on his loss. But I feel it's important for the public to see that this mind control cult- Jehovah's Witnesses - is JUST as dangerous as Scientology is. Most people in the general public are NOT aware how dangerous or criminal the WT organization is. Hopefully a few will start seeing by my comments. If I can only help a few non-JW's to open their eyes - who knows ? Perhaps word will spread further as to the dangers. Take care, Peace out, Mr. Flipper -

I'm really sad to hear this. I wasn't a huge fan of his- but he was extremely talented in the music genre he pursued - I was just into different music. I really liked his early stuff like Red Corvette and When Doves Cry . JW or not - it's so sad that we've lost so many musicians within months of each other. Jesus Christ. Who the hell is going to die next ? I feel sad for Prince that he didn't escape the JW cult before he died so he could experience true freedom from mind control and superstition. May he rest in peace. Sincerely, Mr. Flipper -

A world without religion? Any different?
by punkofnice ini wonder what it would be like, without any religion in the world?
i don't think it would be like 'imagine' by lennon.. i don't believe it will ever happen.
even if it did, people are the same.

All religion has done is foment fear, guilt, superstition, stupidity, and murderous wars with an " us versus them " mentality for centuries and centuries in mankind. The " I'm right- you're wrong " mentality. Serves no useful purpose.
I feel you are correct though Punk- if mankind didn't have religion - they'd find some other play toy or sets of rules and restrictions to beat each other up with. All we can do is help each other individually according to the need - can't stop or control the lunacy of the entire human race or globe. We can write songs about it though, or poetry

One thing I forgot to mention. This perfectly explains the young 17 year old JW's response to me this last Monday when I encouraged him to research WT child abuse on the Internet. His response ? " I don't trust everything I read on the Internet . " Now we know WHAT causes him to think that way -

I'm really happy to hear that your friend stopped attending meetings after reading this mind control information from the WT article. The GUILT and FEAR tactics that the WT Society leaders and writing committee use are really, really devious if we want to talk about REAL deviousness and dishonesty .
Just the initial statement about what JW's should do if they find " slanderous news about Jehovah's organization on the Internet " . This is a " thought stopping " technique used by the WT leaders to IMMEDIATELY stop any JW from checking out the Internet because any and all information ( allegedly ) about the JW organization will be lies according to this article. Which of course - is a lie in and of itself !
And then at the end by insinuating that ANY negative information about the WT Society or Jehovah's Witnesses is " circulated by people who are slaves to the " father of the lie" , Satan the Devil " it scares JW's into thinking that ANY negatives about the WT organization are " evil " or " Satan " inspired - even if by proof the evidence shows the allegations are true ! They are to dismiss any negatives in their minds . Kind of like a kidnapped victim dismisses the fact that his captors have committed ANY crimes - JW's are under the influence of the " Stockholm Syndrome " where they refuse to admit that WT leaders or any part of the organization is CRIMINAL or EVIL. WT leaders have infested the minds of JW's with criminal mind control that in my opinion would even excuse WT leaders for committing murder. Just look at the no-blood transfusion policies and how many JW's following that policy have killed. WT leaders ARE guilty of not only misinformation- but outright murder

NEW BLOOD CARD w/ FORCED COMPLIANCE also LEGALISM
by apocalypse ini have looked around and i don't see this covered, so i am starting a thread.. 1) the new "blood card" goes beyond being just a "blood card".. 2) a new edict concerning compliance.. pay attention to the changes.. first, the new card is termed "advance decision to refuse specified medical treatment".
the big change with the card itself is that it includes an 'override' of your "power of attorney".
this is huge.

I would STRONGLY suggest to any of you who are ex-JW's or even inactive JW's living with a believing JW mate- to go to your doctor and take the time to get your medical records changed so that you can receive life saving blood transfusions if you so need them in the future.
It seems the WT leaders are getting even MORE intrusive in not honoring personal boundaries even for life saving health concerns. If you live in a household with a believing JW and they are on your medical contact to make decisions for you in the case of a medical emergency - you cannot be assured that they'll advocate for you and they may demand of the doctors to refuse to give you blood !
After I had stopped attending in 2003 , a few years later in 2006 I totally changed the contact people on my medical directives to my wife Mrs. Flipper, my son Flipper Jr. and my wife's non-JW parents. All these people are non-JW's and are SANE enough to insist I be given life saving blood transfusions in the case of emergencies. I made these changes with my doctor present and signed the necessary legal forms and medical forms my doctor provided.
If I had not done this - there is no telling what my extended JW family would attempt to do in the case of a life threatening emergency to me. It's best to prepare legally beforehand, ahead of time - where there is no doubt who is in control - YOU ! Don't just assume your JW relatives are going to honor your wishes if you are inactive or stopped attending meetings. Especially if you live with a JW still who may feel they have control over your life ! O.K. I'm done. Think I got the message across
