Assembly Assessment increased 300%
by James Jack inwhile at the assembly, when reading the financial statement, i noticed our expenses went from $2500 to almost $9500 so i questioned an elder and said that the assessment per publisher is at $10.50 for all in the us branch territory.. he added this helps the society know how much is coming in and helps them plan out future projects!.

Sounds to me like WT Society is definitely making a killing, cooking the books, siphoning money out of these assemblies for the betterment of the WT organization. Bet they've been doing this for years behind the a scenes. WT Society has always kept the REAL financial reports behind the scenes and hasn't revealed squat to rank & file JW's. One reason among many WT is a billion $$$ corporation. Pretty disgusting -

1st time in 30 years no one Baptized at our Assembly
by James Jack inat our assembly in alabama, no one got baptized, even though we added 3 congregations to our side in the circuit.
just looked at my wife and said wow.. yet ironically, the regular pioneer ranks have increased 45% in the last 5 years!.

Yep. I definitely go along with Finkelstein's take- " welcome to the information age Watchtower corporation " . Exactly. The better access the public and even lurking wannabe JW's have to the Internet and revealing information - the less they wannabe a JW. Stands to reason. Believing in reality is better than believing in false fantasy's -

Hello All!
by ihunt ini figure it's about time that i stop silently lurking around this community and actually add to the conversation, so here goes a first post.
a little about me-i was born "half-in", that is, my mother has been a witness for the entirety of my life whereas my father has never been.
i was an active part of the congregation (at least for what an unbaptized publisher can do) until i turned 18 and got an opportunity to attend a university (go school!).

Epic Discussion ( Confrontation ) with JW Cart People about WT Child Abuse

OUTLAW- Pretty funny stuff. I like that song " Horse with No Name ". LOL.
LOVUNIHATEXAMS- Thanks, yeah I agree I shouldn't have torn up their literature but I was trying to show them if they de-valued my information then I didn't value theirs either. Next time I probably won't tear it up. If I talk to some different people I'll just hand it back to them. Peace out, mr. Flipper

Wow, I just looked at the link to try to get on that board to give these JW's access to information- it's like trying to get into Fort Knox- can't be done unless you give Song # such and such from such and such meeting and a bunch of other stuff only J-dubs would know. Talk about " closed society ". Wow -

Attitudes of WT Society Leaders Towards " Rights " of Child Abuse Victims and Elders
by flipper inthese excerpts i'm sharing with you are from the july 1st, 1989 letter from the wt society to the elders and it gives outsiders a good idea of the attitude of the wt society leaders towards child abuse victims and even towards their own appointed elders.
and it shows wt society is first, foremost, and mainly concerned about financial fallout from potential lawsuits.
one short quote was used from this letter on the abc news nightline report about candace conti - but what i'm going to share with you will be other excerpts from that same letter that are just as, or even more revealing.

ZEB- I agree with you. It certainly DOES appear that even back in 1989 the WT leaders were expecting a tidal wave of child abuse lawsuits due to their irresponsible child abuse policies. And what's weird is all they would have had to do is just advocate for the children instead of protecting pedophiles, go straight to the police, make stricter rules in the organization against child molesters, but as you say the immortal dollar, money was more important. I don't know about the underground bunker thing- but I agree the WT Society will throw the rank & file JW's under the bus if these child abuse cases break the WT Society financially. I think they have billions $$$ still available to them. They're gonna need it -

Thanks for the replies. Much appreciated !
FREEMINDFADE- You make a good point. Isn't it amazing that someone who would suffer being abused sexually while a minor child - could be looked at with scorn from members of the congregation for suing the WT Society for damages -especially when WT Society is liable. So yeah- the child molesters themselves would be looked upon as more acceptable to WT leaders than a publisher who sued the WT Society. That is pretty twisted.
SPARROWDOWN- Exactly. The religion is a farce indeed. WT leaders play the blame game all the time never taking responsibility for anything. Child abuse victims blamed, elders blamed - as you mention everybody is coerced with the thought , " anyone not for us , is against us. "
GONE FOR GOOD- Very well put. WT Society can't stand the fact that they are losing these lawsuits and paying out millions $$ on child abuse lawsuits. Authorities ARE a " complication " to the WT leaders when they are trying to hide criminal conduct. And they have a lot to hide pretty obviously

Why do people "come back"?
by kairos ini know of several examples of ones that "left the truth" for up to 20 years, only to suffer through the reinstatement process and feel like they are finally back on track.. how does this happen?.
i personally know of one example where a father of three, leaves jws, abandons wife and family, lives as a gay man then comes back 20 years later as a partaking member of the anointed..

UCANTNOME- You have to do what's best for your personal situation. I respect that. I just know that personally I would never return to a criminal organization like the Jehovah's Witnesses. I cannot support the WT Society's tolerance of child abusers within their midst. You may be able to compartmentalize that criminal tolerance and be alright with it- I cannot. To each his own, good luck to you -
