but their program mentioned a dance class
I thought Baptists didn't believe in dancing.
somehow, i wound up at a local baptist church.
folks were friendly and welcoming, the hyms made musical and verbal sense (mostly, one was about praising his name but never actually used a name except lord)) and the public talk (umm sermon) was taken from luke 13-34 inclusive.
there was no jumping to unconnected verses and no buzz words instead of logic.

I've noticed this, too. I got a phone call last month from a JW relative that I haven't heard from in ages. We talked for over an hour and she never once mentioned anything spiritually related. She talked about going back to school, what extra curricular activities her daughter is involved in, the new business her husband has started, and any number of non-JW topics. She suggested we all get together for a family gathering and when we hung up, I was elated.
I, too, think they are just going through the motions because it's something they've always done, but they don't seem to be taking it as seriously as they used to. This is a good thing. I think the next generation will just fade on out and this CULT will dwindle down to almost nothing within the next two decades. Just my wishful thinking maybe.
i saw a post earlier that someone did asking for favorite screen names on jwd.

Welcome aboard!
at the time i was really too young to watch (or understand) the show, but i liked the theme song from dallas.. what's your favourite?.
I love Who's "Who Are You" on CSI.
i am currently debating a topic with someone who cosistantly says that the wt is growing at a rate of 5000 per week and 50 new halls each week.
he reckons he's privvy to 'inside' info that suggests this.. does anyone have any of the actual worldwide growth rates and new halls being built?.
I wonder how many households this near 7M represents. I imagine a lot of those publishers are baptized children, so we're probably talking about maybe 3.5M households worldwide?? Not really a lot IMO.
i was just reading something posted a couple of years ago and it got me thinking.
family love.. in the post vivamus discussed how after she made the decision to leave the witnesses she went to a birthday party for her uncle.
when she walked into the room everyone just dropped thjaws in surprise.

Bitter is the wrong word, dear. I'm disgusted and find the religion repulsive because of its hypocrisy and total disregard for Christ-like love.
