Job 1:4,13
by undercover ini have seen several posts about job's children celebrating their birthdays using job 1:4,13 as proof.
but out of the several translations that i read i don't see where it says it was their birthday being celebrated.
the closest thing i saw was that it said "on their day".

MOAB Update (aka Big BLU)
by Crazy151drinker inno i am not talking about utah .
afp/defense departmentimage from video shows moab's mushroom cloud.. before this week, military officials confirmed that the air force had been developing a large conventional bomb but offered few details.
on tuesday, however, the pentagon revealed that the first live test of moab occurred at 1 p.m. at eglin air force base.. "it looked like a white mushroom cloud, almost like cotton or smoke you'd see from a fire, kind of billowy," said base spokeswoman karen roganov, who watched from a rooftop 30 miles away.. but moab might not be the largest conventional weapon in the arsenal for long.

Things We Like About The Society.
by SYN inas i was performing my evil nightly pagan ritual of paging through the threads on jwd, a thought "came across" my mind - all we ever really do here is slag the tower.
now, while this is without doubt one of the most fun activities ever invented, especially considering the fact that many of us gave up very large parts of our lives in the service of this book publishing company formerly known as a religion, and also taking into account the fact that some of their more ludicrous doctrines wouldn't be out of place in a monty python film, it does seem a little bit one-sided.
"people" like comforter, nyt, and of course the venerable hildablingbling have repeatedly stressed that we should completely ignore the rampant child abuse, society-sanctioned murder in exchange for getting your child's mugshot on the awake magazine, more society-sanctioned murder for less glamorous purposes such as not buying political party cards for 25 cents, and so forth, in favour of concentrating on the good aspects of the society!

Christmas is Good
by Crazy151drinker incelebrating christmas and civil holidays approved?
1904 "even though christmas is not the real anniversary of our lord's birth, but more properly the annunciation day or the date of his human begetting (luke 1:28), nevertheless, since the celebration of our lord's birth is not a matter of divine appointment or injunction, but merely a tribute of respect to him, it is not necessary for us to quibble particularly about the date.
we may as well join with the civilized world in celebrating the grand event on the day which the majority celebrate - "christmas day.
