  why did the "demons" only go after those "strongin the truth"

  i heard that when a "strong " jw supposedly had demon problems (it was probably just the wind in reality) but i also heard that demons affected the ones that were "weak" and were not regular at meetings etc perhaps because they had second hand furniture lol

  How Does a July 4th Lake Tahoe Apostafest Sound in California ?Let me Know

  hello friends !

  my wife, mrs. flipper and i were talking about getting an apostafest together for july 4th , 2008 weekend this summer.

  this year the 4th falls on a friday, so it would at least be a 3 day holiday weekend when some may be able to get away !

  How many of the 144K anointed were in your congregation

  growing up in the spanish congregation in chicago - i knew 4-5 of this supposed anointed.

  all of them no longer are jw, 2-3 of them started their own religionthe other 2 was a mother and son.

  they never went house to house, never raised their hands in meetings, never went to the book study we held is our own private homes.

  Self-confidence vs. Apathy

  i've been working on building some self-confidence/esteem/respect since leaving the borg.

  i believe the mind wanting to repair itself now is because of much less chronic negative feedback from people in authority.

  my parents are across the continent, i no longer read the goatherder's sexual and misogynic guide to assholism nor any books designed to decipher it to a 21st century reader.. i'm thinking perhaps there is a good combination in apathy and self-esteem.

I believe the mind wanting to repair itself now is because of much less chronic negative feedback from people in authority. My parents are across the continent, I no longer read the goatherder's sexual and misogynic guide to assholism nor any books designed to decipher it to a 21st century reader.

  I'm thinking perhaps there is a good combination in apathy and self-esteem. I say apathy as in one doesn't mind too much what others think of them, or in otherwords, doesn't obsess about it all day long with every encounter of another human being.

  Self-esteem comes naturally when you stop beating yourself up for stuff that's either happened or that you can't really control. It's also built up when you recognise good in yourself and whatever accomplishments you have been able to accomplish (ex. quitting smoking before you really started it, giving up cannabis as a chronic all day long habit, staying alive, not becoming a speed freak, leaving a cult, not killing one's self, staying off the streets and in a home, etc etc ad infinitum)

  What do you all think about this axis of self-esteem/confidence/respect vs Apathy to others opinions (i.e. quitting the serving of the god's of other people's opinions)

  Something I learned from being born-in

  been thinking and painting today.. anyway, my mind started wandering and settled onto this: being born in has made me more understanding of people since i woke up from the cult.

  i came here, met a bunch of other born-in peeps who immediately understood.

  we have all kinda branched out in different directions.

  I never fit into the judgmental crowd much either, and held different views of homosexuals, crimincals, etc, than that of most witnesses whilst in it. I too am a born in. I guess there is just something about some people that won't allow them to go along with that sort of thing.
