I finally caught one at their own game

ok so we all know how these jw's pass these urban legend emails around passing them off as actually events.. i got one sent to me.

it talks about how this one sister was dying she wanted to be buried with a fork in her hand because when she was at these congo get togethers they would say to keep your fork because dessert is coming.

just remember to 'keep your fork' .

a semi-famous math professional poses this question in a book i'm reading.. i find the answer to be counter-intuitive, but, entertaining.. here is the question:.

you buy a sack of spuds that weighs 100lbs and are told it is 99% water.. you leave the sack outside in the sun for a couple of days before bringing it inside to store.. you find the spuds are now only 98% water.. how much does the sack of spuds weigh?

(this is not a trick question.

What would you do???

hey there, im kinda looking for some guidance here, i had a very close friend, she was actually one of my bridesmaids at my wedding, she's a little messed up but never the less we had a good friendship until i told her i was pregnant....!

it was no secret i was trying we had told everyone that we wanted to start trying after our wedding, but anyway when i told her her response was " oh, ok congratulations" and that was it, for the 9 months i was pregnant i reckon she asked me twice if i was ok and how it was going, all her text msg were about her and what was happening in her life.

she has come no where near us since i have had kaia, she hasnt seen her once and kaia is coming up to 6 months old.

I'm always reminded that friends come and friends go. I'm also reminded of this note someone sent me many months ago.

As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't
supposed to ever let you down probably will. You will have your heart
broken probably more than once and it's harder every time. You'll break

did being in the organization produce anything good?everyone has his or her perspective and viewpoint about the watchtower society.. true, most of us on this board know the history and story behind the watchtower.

however, is there anything that you learned from your jehovahs witness past that .

you appreciate even today?.

I did stay away from drugs because of it.

I also accepted part of their ideas about death. Minus the resurrection.

DELILAH'S STRANGE EXPERIENCE......

ok, i wasn't sure if i should post this, but was convinced by buttlight someone who shall remain nameless.

i was talking to delilah the other day (she hasn't been posting because their computer broke down a few months ago).

she had a bizzarre experience at work a couple of weeks ago that really freaked her out.. the friday before easter, one of the women who works on her floor, was passing flyers out inviting people to a worship service that weekend.

I don't know how he did it. It hurts if I try to do it and everyone around also tried to do it.

I knew someone years ago, he was on my dart team, who could do that and it was a great bar room gag.

I have also witnessed two epileptic seizsures(sp) and the victims did that.

Do You Still Act Like A Jehovah's Witness?

i'm not very far removed, any longer from how i presented myself as a witness, and how i do today.

i'm usually polite, cordial, respectful of others, even those who i may have very little regard for or those who on a regular basis, piss me off.

i work very hard not to use foul language.

I can't say the JWs gave me all my good values. They did however give me the anger I needed to act out with many bad values. After leaving the org I changed my evil ways on my own.
