As it were, is just a phrase that may be popular in time or location. Another phrase for example would be, and such. I hate that one and lately I have used it many times. I worked with a man about 8 years ago who used it in almost every other sentence. I haven't seen him in 5 years and the phrase is starting to come up again. I heard it in a movie lately. I know these phrases are not easy to blow off, but I think we have to let them go in one ear and out the other as best we can.

by Gerard inmy wife 'rowan' was born and raised a jw, her father being an elder -a very gentle loving person, but an elder.. some years ago, she was betrayed by a close friend, subjected to a jc and was disfellowshiped & shunned.
the proceeding was completely void of mercy and love, it was much like a violation, a rape.
finding herself df'd was of course terrifying, but the most disapointing outcome was that her father sided with the elders.. eventually she discovered through select books, articles and this board about the fear-driven mind control ways of her religion.

Counciling or proffesional help is great. Don't go into it with blinders on. Stay open to the possibility there may be other things causing depression as I experienced less than a year ago. For me, things to do with age and the medications I was on were the major players. What has really worked well for me is writing. I have written some stories that have helped me to feel better. I found the old saying, "write, write from the heart and write the truth, the truth will set you free" really works.

I had a few handwritten notes when I started to now we actually have a job description and written out duties and layout of the job, which was all prompted by me.
Embellish those words on an application for a better job, you will have a good chance with better companies. I work for Kodak, and writing out duties and the layout of a job goes hand in hand with our KOS system. Kodak Operating System. Useful in any industry, because it streamlines ANY work process once you get to know it.
Everyone doing the same thing in the same manor will minimise defects and produce quality products. Use that on a resume.
Cheer up, from your posts I can tell this period for you will be brief.

Did you stop singing the songs BEFORE you stopped going to meetings?
by zack inafter i found out the truth abouth the troof, i could not--- i mean physically could not---- sing a note of a jw song at a meeting.. this was way before i decided to make a plan and a final break.
this happen to anyone?.

Unbled meat.
by DJK inwhat is the (or your) definition of unbled meat as described in 1 samuel 14:32-35 where saul fed his army unbled meat.
i would assume that his army did not travel with a herd of sheep and the meat they ate would be from the wild.. i am a hunter and when i harvest a deer, i do not hang it and cut the throat.
i have already dressed (disemboweled) the deer and that includes removing the heart from the inside which allows a total bloodletting.. there are jdubs who hunt and it is quite obvious to game officials who they are because they will check in deer with the throat cut.

Strangle can be argued. Does it's reference in the bible mean the squeezing of the windpipe to kill or does it refer to a force or action that restricts freedom? It may be an assumption to killing because the word's "abstain from blood", follow.
It's an interesting question apparently because QBert has not responded. Still the question of, properly, unbled meat has not been answered, biblicly!

This board is not for me.
by Wafe inwhen i came to this board, i thought that it was for encouragement amoung people who had been treated badly by the wtbts, i did not understand that people were going to come here and bash god, his son and the bible.
i could understand some embitterment over religion but some of you people are down right insulting.
not to mention the fact that i have tried to contact others on the board and have had my messages ignored.. .

I have grown weary of hearing the same complaints about the Bible over and over again that not only have an answer but are really simple to find if one wants to bother to look. However what I have found is that some people here are not interested in finding the answers, they just hate God, pure and simple and need to be vocal about it. Now that is thier business and they are allowed to do so. I have no right to tell them otherwise. I guess I just get a little tired of hearing the same complaints over and over again. At this point I need time away from the fights and intelliectual attacks on something I care about so much.
I can see your point here. Like an ex smoker who hangs with smokers or an ex heroine addict who hangs with heroine addicts. Your trying to maintain the smooth river without the obstacles of rocks. You know what is good for you, thumbs up for knowing what it is and best wishes to you. Ken.

i have of recent day's lost my supplier of watchtower literature, i use to receive it regularly as you all would know, a jw will not accept copies they need to see the real thing before they will even listen.
i remember once an elder told a guy i was helping that i had a printing press (i left copies of pages with this guy, even though i showed him from their own publications) in my house and that i would get their publications change a sentance or two then print it to look exactly like their publications.
