Blade Runner - the new movie
by days of future passed ini went to see blade runner 2 because i liked the first one.
even tho the first one was i think rated r, i still saw it.
the whole atmosphere of the first one was bizarre and real to itself.. if you don't want to be spoiled, don't read on.. with high hopes, despite hearing that it tanked at the box office (are the critics crazy?

Their interest in us is self-serving.
by compound complex inwhy these war-beasts have kept me on i haven't a clue.
perhaps my ruddy complexion is a reminder of the basic hue of a home deserted yet scarcely forgotten.. .
i cannot by any stretch of the imagination -- and there's been a great deal of such "stretching" lately -- attribute to these coarse and loathsome creatures any delicate sentiment characteristic of our gentler race.

Columbus Circle monument could be next statue to go
by freemindfade inchristopher columbus could be next on the monuments chopping block.. the 76-foot structure honoring the explorer at columbus circle should be among the statues reviewed by the city for potential purging, city council speaker melissa mark-viverito said on monday.. http://nypost.com/2017/08/21/columbus-circle-monument-could-be-next-statue-to-go/.
if this goes on, these people are just validating what the orange one said, where will it stop?
how will people 200 years from now look back on us?

Old School Effects and CGI
by LoveUniHateExams ini was just thinking about old school effects and cgi (computer generated imagery) in film.
first off, cgi is certainly an advancement in technology, in what can or can't be portrayed on screen.. my knowledge of films and film-making is by no means extensive.
it's just i feel that sometimes film-makers rely too much on cgi, assume that more cgi = better film, or assume it's better to use cgi in every instance.. take a nightmare on elm street (1984).
