I remember being told that the dinosaurs were destroyed in the flood.
I think the sleestaks were killed then, too. Maybe the sleestaks were actually the nephilim. O_O

GOD CREATED THE EARTH FOR, ummm, MAN, ummm, DINOSAURS!!
by Terry inis there any sensible reply from inerrency addicts concerning the earth being created for man when there is such overwhelming evidence that dinosaurs had the earth to themselves for millions of years?.
my son is 16 years old.
he has a teacher at school who tells him god created the earth already "old" and with buried dinosuar bones to test the faith of believers.. this is the demonstration of a crippled intellect!.

Word/image Association: What does "Rainbow" make you think of?
by gaiagirl ina jw who works where i work saw a new age cd with an image of a rainbow on the cover, and immediately said "this is homosexual".
is this a widespread feeling among jw's, or fundamentalists in general?

You should tell them that they are spiritually weak, because their first thought should be of god's promise to not destroy the earth with a flood again when they see a rainbow. :p

MIT Scientist: 'Alarm over climate change is based on ignorance...
by Bryan inthe earth will always be changing.. what ever happened to the acid-rain, sky is falling, bs?.
learning to live with global warming.
by richard s. lindzennewsweek international"the current alarm rests on the false assumption not only that we live in a perfect world, temperaturewise, but also that our warming forecasts for the year 2040 are somehow more reliable than the weatherman's forecast for next week.".

Mars is not getting warmer because of increased output from the Sun. We are actually just entering the solar minimum in the solar cycle, and solar output has been decreasing very slightly since 2001.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solar_cycle
The changes in the Martian temperature can be accounted for by the dustorms causing changes in the reflectivity of the surface of Mars.

My Master's turnoff -- disgusting. What's yours?
by Fatfreek inyesterday, i witnessed something disgusting, a personal turnoff i hadn't seen for a long time -- this on national tv and during the masters golf tournament.
here, the best player in the world (you know who he is) takes a finger with his right hand and closes off his right nostril, then blows his left nostril toward the ground.
no handkerchief, no kleenex -- nothing.

There was this older lady who worked in my area and for a few weeks she had some kind of respitory problem. She'd cough and cough the awful croopy cough and then spit in a trashcan. I don't know why the managers didn't tell her to go home.
Oh yeah and the not washing hands in the restroom grosses me out, too, especially when they come out of the stall after taking a dump they just waltz on out without so much as glancing at the sink. After witnessing (ha!) that a few times I've been opening the restroom doors with a paper towel rather than touch the poop covered door handle. -

Counting Time
by Xena ini don't know about anyone else but this could be the source of major contention between dubs in my halls.
you had those who started their time as soon as you pulled out of the hall parking lot (me), those who counted from the first knock at the door or laundry mat visited, and the die hards who didn't start until they actually spoke to someone(my sister).
my sister and i would go round and round about this, i finally just pretended to start my time when she did just to shut her up.

Is it time to Reconsider Nuclear Power? Article re: Stewart Brand, and more
by Seeker4 inhttp://www.peoplesvoicemagazine.com/.
above is a link to an article i just wrote on the movement among some environmentalists to reconsider nuclear energy, focusing in particular on stewart brand, the futurist, author, entrepeneur and genius who created the whole earth catalog, the well, and lots of other extremely cool stuff.
click on the link and then click on the main feature at the top of the page, where it mentions brand.. brand is also a scientist, and is basing his change of view about nuclear power on reason and science as opposed to the romantic emotionalism of much of the environmental movement.. this is a huge change in the focus of some environmentalists and is creating quite a stir.

I'm not sure how to get to the article, all I see is a picture.
Anyway, the Chinese and I think the South Africans are working on something called a pebble bed reactor. It's supposed to be a lot safer that the ones currently in use.
