HP bought my EDS stock for 25$ a share last year. I was able to file that as a capital loss, and that helped with my refund.

Stars are very simple objects. Hydrogen + Gravity = Star.
We have some ideas as to how it all came about. Even if you believe the invisible man in the sky made it all would it not be "chance" that he one day decided to make the universe? I mean he could've just spent eternity with just himself, but wait he already did! The "God of the gaps" is a tired argument that has been used for millennia. Oh we don't understand what lightning is, it must be from the gods! If the trend that started thousands of years ago continues, then God will disappear from this gap in our understanding as well.
To start with the premise that God did it is intellectual sloth, and will not get us anywhere.
Oh and do a search on hubble deep field survey for more pictures like the ones at the end.

Entertaining: Snack Foods
by cameo-d inwhat would you serve as a substantial snack food for mid-afternoon?.
i am not looking for anything formal like tea and crumpets.. i am not looking for prissy stuff like raw carrot sticks.. i am not looking for something expensive like fancy wine and cheese.. not looking for anything really really sweet, either.. .
i am looking for man-food....like maybe something that would go with deviled eggs.

Bacon! No man will turn down free bacon.
Does it go well with deviled eggs? Hmm.. I don't know, but it is bacon.
Maybe get some baconnaise to go with the bacon, then you could have bacon flavored bacon for that extra bacony kick.

Does anyone know where to buy the old phosphate detergent? The phosphate free detergent is so bad.
A lot of places have banned phosphates in detergent products because it's a potent fertilizer, and will cause algal blooms and other aquatic plants to overgrow and damage the environment.

Looking for philosophy experts
by jstalin inhello all, i'm looking for some expert(s) on philosophy, specifically ancient philosophy.
the short story is that i don't want to raise children within a specific religion, but i'd still like to raise them with a philosophical underpinning for the important ways to live life.
i've been looking at some ancient philosophical systems that encompass my core beliefs.

I have an idea, just take a hunk of cheddar with you, pocket some of the unleavened bread, and then when the wine comes around you can have yourself some classy snackage. Unless it was the wine that was paseed around first, I can't remember.

by sinis in...because god knows i'm never, ever, going to set foot in there again!!
my wife asked me if i was going to the memorial tonight with her?
i said that i would rather fondle satans balls, stroke his shaft, and swallow the gravy before i go.... i'll be sitting at home tonight eating pizza and beer playing ps3 while you are all dressed up in uncomfortable clothes, listening to bullshit propaganda, and being love bombed....

I get burnt just thinking about the Sun.
I actually used a tanning bed at a place a couple of times years ago before I realized it was just an exersize in futility for me, and seeing a few people there that looked like you could make a nice wallet or boots out of their skin, but you do feel good after baking for a few minutes in one of those things. I can see how some can become addicted to that.

Well of course the animals shouldn't be made to suffer, and if it can be proven that the owners were negligent then they should be punished. I don't think anyone here is in support of animal cruelity. I'm saying that different cultures assign different values to different animals. In most of the Western world cows = food, in India cows = sacred. If someone somewhere is raising horses for food who am I to judge? They might find raising pigs for food obscene.
Over hunting wild animals is another problem altogether.
