60 MB Broadband (cable) Internet...do we really need it that fast?
by SnakesInTheTower inthrough work, i received a copy of a news release from the local cable company.
that cable company is headed to bankruptcy but until then business as usual.
(kinda like the illinois governor...just keeps going even though doomed).. my question is...do residential customers really need internet to be that fast?

I hope they find his writings on death rays.
Seriously though that's really cool. Kinda sad though, all the knowledge we lost that had to be rediscovered. I often wonder what if the library at Alexandria had survived, what if Heron's Aeropile was devloped into the first steam engine? The West lost a thousand years through a self inflicted lobotomy as Carl Sagan put it.

Global Warming Is Irreversible, Study Says
by Alpaca inwe are in for a very rough ride in the coming decades.. this was reported on npr:.
all things considered, january 26, 2009 climate change is essentially irreversible, according to a sobering new scientific study.. as carbon dioxide emissions continue to rise, the world will experience more and more long-term environmental disruption.
the damage will persist even when, and if, emissions are brought under control, says study author susan solomon, who is among the world's top climate scientists.. "we're used to thinking about pollution problems as things that we can fix," solomon says.

Is this generation just setting themselves up for disappointment with Obama!
by free2beme ini have heard people call obama their "lord and savior" and act like having him in office is going to solve everything for the world.
i honest believe, a lot of people have extremely high hopes for this man.
some deserved, as he promised and others imposed as they are desperate.

This generation shall not pass away until Obama brings an end to the wicked recession of things.
I'm sorry I couldn't resist.
