i just caught the conclusion of an npr news brief regarding zimbabwe (i believe the country is zimbabwe); the government is using food as a weapon, i.e., 'you support our regime and we'll feed you.'.

the journalist ended her report saying that it is 'a desperate regime that will do anything to stay in power.'.

my first thought was of the governing body.. call me crazy .... coco.

Zimbabwe also has a relly bad problem with hyperinflation. I think they're printing 500,000,000 Zimbabwe Dollar notes now.

after hearing the stupidity of last sunday's watchtower about trusting the bible over science, no matter what, i'm ready to educate myself.. science wasn't one of my strong subjects in high school; didn't like formulas and all that, but i'm ready to learn now.. so, where should i start?.

after hearing the stupidity of last sunday's watchtower about trusting the bible over science, no matter what, i'm ready to educate myself.. science wasn't one of my strong subjects in high school; didn't like formulas and all that, but i'm ready to learn now.. so, where should i start?.

june 30, 1908. at around 7:17 a.m. local time, tungus natives and russian settlers in the hills northwest of lake baikal observed a column of bluish light, nearly as bright as the sun, moving across the sky.

about 10 minutes later, there was a flash and a sound similar to artillery fire.

eyewitnesses closer to the explosion reported the sound source moving east to north.

CASHLESS SOCIETY - HOW CLOSE?

lately i have noticed very strange activity at my local gas stations that i go to in the vancouver area people are being asked to use the debit/credit cards at the pump.

the last time i tried to use a debit card to pay gas inside a gas station i got scolded by the cashier, he said "please pay at the pump!!.

i say gee i guess he is having a bad day or something..... well so i go to anouther gas station - a shell station and the same rhetoric .."please pay at the pump!

About the only thing I use cash for is the vending machines at work.

06/01/2008 - every significant internet provider around the globe is currently in talks with access and content providers to transform the internet into a television-like medium: no more freedom, you pay for a small commercial package of sites you can visit and you'll have to pay for seperate subscriptions for every site that's not in the package.

what can we do?internet providers have realized that the only way to not lose massive amounts of customers over this is to make sure there are no alternatives, that's why all major internet providers are currently making agreements and planning to switch simultaneously somewhere in the year 2012. this is currently all going on under very strict nda's (non-disclosure agreements) because the last thing they want is the masses speaking out against it.
