Embarassed at school for being a Witness - Did this happen to you?
by Witness 007 inwhen they played the national anthem everyone stood up...except afew of us witness kids who stood out like a saw thumb....a brother two rows ahead of me had a teacher physically drag him to his feet as he struggled to explain himself...i would sweat like a pig as others pointed and laught and told me off...from then on i would hide in the toilet till i heard the anthem finish then come out.. then theirs birthday holidays, sex education, religious studies which i wanted to do since i would be a star but i was banned by my family.. do you have an embarassing hide like a rat in the toilet moment..

Why Adam and Eve were unfairly judged by God
by BreakingAway inthe argument has been made on many occasions that death and suffering are a result of adam's sin.in fact, the bible is so clear on this "fact" that it is one of the few things on which nearly every christian denomination will agree.. "therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned romans 5:12. however, i would like to present the case that god had, in fact, not told adam this very thing, and consequently, adam was unaware of what really would take place upon eating the fruit.notice this verse:.
"but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will surely die.
" gen.2:17. i highlighted the word "you" because this is absolutely critical.why ?

I think we've driven this into the ground....You're certainly entitled to your opinion, and the rest of us are entitled to ours. To be fair, some of us, though we have our disagreements with the Org and organized religion in general, still believe in a Supreme Being as spoken of in the Holy Bible and think YOUR line of thinking is dangerous. You are basically saying that what YOU think, not God, is what's most important and that you, a puny human with very flawed thinking ability when compared to God's, get to be the final arbitor of what's fair and not fair. That, to me, smacks of arrogance and haughtiness of the worst kind. But, hey, it's a free country and you can believe anything and express any opinion that you want--so yes, we CAN agree to disagree....

Gobitas/Flag Salute Supreme Court Decision Question
by owenfieldreams inabout 25 yrs ago, walter gobitas served the circuit that i was in as a kid--he was kin to the gobitas' that were involved in the famous flag salute case that went before the supreme court.
anyone know if he is still in the circuit work or of his whereabouts?
just curious... .

All I know is "Wally" Gobitas was a CO and served our congregation out in the Midwest back in the early eighties. He may have been a cousin or some other relative, but I do know for a fact he was kin to the Gobitas family in question because he told us so when he stayed in our home one time with his wife.

First, I'm accepting the premise that you are not an atheist. If you are, then not much of what I think on this subject will make much sense to you. If you go by the ' day for a year' then they did indeed die within that 'day'--with a thousand years being a figurative day, but that's another subject altogether that could be debated ad nauseam by itself.
My point is this--whether you or I or any other human with only an imperfect mind to think with and reason with THINKS it's fair or not what God did in the garden of eden is irrelevant. Besides, you and I are not "all knowing", and we are greatly limited compared to the One who created us when it comes to thinking and reasoning ability, thus OUR perception of what is fair or NOT fair may not necessarily square with what the Supreme Being's is. When you are Master of the Universe, you get to make the rules. YOU may disagree with God all you want--but surely you are not suggesting that any of us humans know better than God?

problem is now, he busts off with some of the foulest farts on record.

Nope. Won't work. Their digestive system is a little different from ours. But you can probably reduce it somewhat by changing his diet.

I dont agree with the fact that God 'changed' the rules--but even if he did, he has the right to, as the Supreme Being--it's his universe and he can do what damn well he wants! he's not bound by what YOU think standards and laws he should abide by. The arrogance of some of you--Sheesh....

letter read at theo school this week
by buffalosrfree inletter had to do with checks written at the upcomig district conventions (bs sessions) checks are not the be made out to watchtower but are to be made out the congreagtion of jehovah witnesses.
