  Beautiful Women and Dorks

  looking back at a few bethel threads and getting calls from many former friends last week about the assembly season, i reflected back on some of the assemblies of the past, particularly in the 80's and 90's.. do you remember beautiful sisters that just had the criteria of having a spiritual man.

  they would get a dorky pioneer / elder / ms and walk together at the assembly.

  everyone would wonder, "how the hel did that happen".

  Addams Family and other TV Shows

  i recently picked up a copy of the original addams family tv show on dvd because i loved the movies, but never saw the original tv shows because my parents would not let me for jw reasons (presumably for demonism, witchcraft, etc.).

  i'm about 12 episodes in and i don't know why this was banned.

  ok, there's thing (a hand/arm), and a bear skin rug that growls.

  I was never allowed to watch the Rugrats, because it might inspire me to be like Angelica. She happens to play mean tricks on babies all the time, and isn't very nice.

  The Candy Jar

  i thought i would ask for advice after reading the post about the common refridgerator.. i have a candy jar on my desk.

  for a while i would put candy in it especially around holidays.

  now why can't he buy his own candy?

  My grandma has a candy jar like that, and I always gorge myself. She only buys the candy when I come...so it might be for me ;) .

  What's your view of "The Secret"

  a neighbor told me about the book, "the secret".

  i read it and thoroughly enjoyed.

  it places emphasis on the "universe" but can be understood to be a supreme being (god).

  I glanced through the first few pages of the book.
  
  And I can tell you, all the positive wishing I've done: Got nothin from it.
  
  
  That being said, I've been employing the "Think positive" for years now, and I'm an extremely happy person. People love me, and I never really find myself needing anything (Cept broadband internet!) .
  
  So I guess, in a way, it works. But apparently I already knew the "Secret" :P .

  what would be the one thing that would definitively change everything?!

  one thing that would pull all other strings together?

  i realize this may be way off base, but here goes anyway.

  what is supposed to be symbolized by peter and the rooster fighting it out on family guy?

  i know that i'm not the sharpest tool in the shed, but this one is completely over my head.

  The rooster gave him outdated coupons. They then fought each other over the course of a very long scene.

  Blonde, Brunette, Redhead? Do you have a favorite?

  this is a fun question that i like to pose in social settings.

  regardless of who your significant other is, i've found that people have a definite preference for hair color.

  what i found even more interesting is that people usually preferred a hair color different than their own.

  I have brown hair, and I like brunettes and redheads.
  
  Blondes? Dunno why. Maybe cuz I was born with blonde hair? It started turning brown when I was about 8 :P .

  How unlucky can you get?

  my wife is spanish.

  in her teens an dying neighbour called her over.

  that evening she promised to sign the house over to her the next morning.

  Your first sentance....does it mean you're unlucky that your wife is spanish? Spanish people aren't that bad :P . Unless I'm missing some sort of thing old people know.
  
  
  Unlucky: My computer has decided that my modem is not allowed to work. I tried everything in my Computer powers to make it work, and I'm not even sure if it will work for much longer even now.
  
  Not terribly unlucky, but super irritating :P .
