I have to agree with oompa.
Also must add both of my 'accidents' are treasures. I can't imagine life without them.
i ask this with serious intent.. evolutionary imperative?
selfishness?
boredom?

i wanted to become an unbaptized publisher, i'd started helping out at the congregation and i was enjoying the responsibilities that any young lad would want to get (as a jw) like doing microphones in absence of brothers and occasionally while they were there as well, before my friends who weren't making 'progress'.. anyway, i went for my unbaptized publisher goal and i got there in the end - making the truth my own, but i was held back by a month or two because some clowns reported me for swearing and a few other things and i have a feeling that was stepdad and/or some of my so called friends jealous of my progress, because immediately after they all became unbaptized publishers .
so...yeah that was mine, i know people have a lot better/worse however you view it but i was so upset by that.
maybe i was swearing, maybe i wasn't at the time i can't remember but i do remember both stepdad/friends swearing on occasions.. as a really young child, i remember mum crying like she often did because she was depressed (what happened to jehoobers happy people) and around a corner outside an elder who i used to like told me it was my fault mum was upset?
An elder pulled me aside after TMS when I was about 18. He had been told I had promised to go on a date with a particular young man whose grandmother was a JW. Apparently I did not show up for the second date and his grandmother told on me (I can't think of anyone else that would have).
I had been fixed up for a blind date with this guy. He was not only obnoxious, he was not a JW and I found out he was MARRIED!! No way was I going out with him again.
And "Brother Elder" was counselling me for not going on another date with the guy because they claimed I said I would!!!! !!!!
are they all their cracked up to be?
we are completly remodeling our house, and when i build my shop, we are thinking of putting one of these in.
i just want to see what people think of them.
My friend in Houston put one in their 3-story house on the water. It was located on the second floor in the laundry room between the kitchen and master suite. It worked great but I can't remember for sure if that was the only unit they had. I'm thinking it was. They also had two bedrooms, a full bath and a mini kitchen on the third floor and a half bath on the first floor.
I stayed with them a few months on the 3rd floor and always had plenty of hot water.
hello knowers, .
i know this was recently discussed, but after a slow search with the site's google tool i still couldn't find it.
is there a place online where one can read the jw elder's manual "pay attention to the flock" book?
Here's the link for the google search of JWD. It worked really fast for me -

the problem:.
your mortgage has interest.
in the beginning 15+ years of a mortgage, almost all of the payments go towards interest.
The term "Compound interest" on a mortgage loan confused me - I had never heard of that. Normally compound interest applies to interest earned (APY - Annual Percentage Yield) on a savings account.
I did a google search and came up with this very good explanation comparing a simple interest mortgage loan vs. a traditional mortgage loan. It is at www.mtgprofessor.com/A%20-%20Amortization/how_does_simple_interest_work.htm .
Looks like I have always had simple interest mortgage loans. I always made my payments early and when I came into extra money paid down the outstanding principal whenever possible so I have saved a lot on interest. With a simple interest loan if you make your payment on the due date or later over the life of the loan you will end up paying a lot more. If you can afford a higher payment, a 15 or 20 yr loan is much cheaper than a 30 yr loan.
The percentage rate, say 5%, is not 5% of the total loan, it is an "Annual Percentage Rate" of 5%. Look at your mortgage loan document. It should show the APR and the % in the blocks near the top of the form.
People that can't pay at least 20% down also get stuck paying Private Mortgage Insurance (PMI) for the first several years until the loan is paid down to about 80% of the original amount if it is a commercial loan. If I remember correctly, if you have a FHA loan you have to pay the PMI for the full term of the loan.
my 17 year old daughter told me 2 men were at the door saturday looking for adults that lived in the house.my wife and i were out of town for 2 days.they had suits on and carrying book bags.
they asked if she was over 18. she replied that she wasn't.
they left without indentifiying themselves.
The last time I visited with my devout J-dub sister we stopped by one of her neighbors that lived a few streets away to ask about something.
We both went up to the door and I rang the bell and after a few minutes knocked. We stood there waiting for several minutes and no one came to the door.
I finally turned to my sister and said, "I guess they won't answer the door cause they think it's Jehovah's Witnesses." She said, yeah I was thinking the same thing.
We had a good laugh anyway.
barbara anderson has just released a new book on cd that contains some 5000 pages of public court records from the nine lawsuits involving 16 victims that the wts settled secretly in may of this year, plus documents from two other cases the society settled in 2000 and 2006.. .
its called secrets of pedophilia in an american religion: jehovahs witnesses in crisis.. .
the book, and more info from barbara about it, is available here:.
Thank you Barbara for all the hard work.
My copy has been ordered. Thanks Seeker4 for letting us know it's available.
i bot a nice one today, and prepared it on my 'george forman' grill.
seems to have the consistency of port or chicken.
not like fish at all to me.
I like the texture of the smaller sand sharks. My dad used to catch them in Florida and bring home filets. We grilled them since they are not flaky and stay in one piece on the grill. Delicious taste and texture.
One time at a fishing village a boat had just come in with a huge hammerhead shark they had caught. Because the shark I had eaten before was so good we bought a couple chunks off that large one. It was not good at all - rather tough with some kind of veins of cartilage or something running through the meat.
Bigger is NOT always better! I'll stick with the smaller sharks.
what if we held up signs outside of kingdom halls with "go to jehovahs-witness.com for more info" on them...or maybe a billboard.
something they can't ignore.. i'm fairly new at jwd, so stop me if you've heard this before.. .
I rarely have occasion to go to a laundromat unless my washer is broken but used to always toss any Watchtowers and Awakes I found there in the garbage.
Now if I would find one in a doctor's office or laundromat, instead of tossing them in the garbage, I would write on them websites anyone picking them up could go to like this website or www.freeminds.org, www.silentlambs.org, www.watchtowerinformationservice.org, www.jwinfo.8m.com, www.sixscreensofthewatchtower.com.
I need to list them on some post-it note pads and keep in my purse so I can just pull off a few notes and stick them inside the first page.
