I see what you’re saying! When you first posted about the trinity I had no idea what you were talking about. Man sometimes I am not so sure of how things are functioning "upstairs". Between high school and becoming a dub it is amazing I have any brain cells left. Thanks for clarifying that for me.

Daystar I agree with you completely.
In the eyes of a JW there is "one true religion" anything outside of that is considered false.
Why do they insist on linking beliefs that are outside of their own to ancient Babylon?

so i've been deciding for the past year or so whether or not i want to stay in this religion, and i have decided that i do not.
i plan on telling my grandparents (whom i live with) this very soon, possibly tomorrow.
of course i can't be just like "i don't want to be a jehovah's witness anymore", but rather "i don't believe in this anymore, and here are the reasons why".

This has also been my experience. I expressed my doubts to my mother in-law and my hubbie. Now they go out of their way to tell me how JW's have "the truth" and "there is no where else to go", blah, blah, blah.
My husband and I get on just fine.... as long as I don't talk about my doubts. The second I do that he gets severely defensive and it is hell in my house for 3-days at least. He is always suspicious of me now. Just expressing my doubts has changed my relationships with these people. They do not treat me like they used.

They correctly assumed that JW's are a cult
2.) What question do you wish more people knew to ask, when a JW comes to their door?
You give many reasons as to why all religions outside of yours are false such as; failed prophecies, harboring pedophiles, and supporting government. How can it be that JW's are the true religion when they are guilty of the very things that supposedly make other religions false?
3.) Estimate the number of people that you spoke to while you were an active JW. How many from that number asked you a thought provoking question that led you to do some research? (What was the question?)
I was informally witnessing to women and we were discussing the trinity doctrine. After a while I became frustrated and told her that "the word trinity isn't even in the bible" she replied "neither is Kingdom Hall or Jehovah's Witness. That shut me up and I just listened to what she had to say. She got my wheels turning for sure.
i have been reading here for a while but as you may of noticed the assembly games post has flushed me out!
it has been fascinating to read all your experiences and to know that the stuff that i thought was odd, was thought odd by others as well.. two things made me leave:.
1. i found i could not do return visits as i did not want to break up families.
