TRICK OR TREAT?

well, i have never been trick or treating like most of you on this board.

i will go for the first time tonight.

what was your first trick or treating/halloween like?.

I guess instead of buying candy I could just get it from the neighbors and recycle it!LOL....I would keep all the good chocolate things though! HEHEHE

The only reason I don't want to take her is that I would feel like everyone would be like....Well, I guess her parents want some candy! (Which we would....but) She will be sitting out with us so she can see all the kids. I think she'll love that!

I think the internet is going to really make a dent in the people getting into the org. I had an experience showing how the people curious about the JW's may react when they are concidering getting into the religion. I had a couple mormon girls come to my door, and I had some questions I wanted to ask them about. Well, they had been trained on how to direct the conversation, so I didn't really get my questions answered straight. Just like the JW's go into things. So, I looked up the mormon web-site and found the answers easily and decieded not to keep on with talking to them. So, hopefully all reasonable persons will do the same and not just listen to the JW's at their door who don't even know what they themselves teach.

ok, so i misinterpreted this author's other article, but this one really does go way beyond.

it's "jehovah witness murder fetish (a psychological model)".

i don't think there's anyway that i am misunderstanding this one - he's saying that the watchtower is to blame!.

Wow rebel8....I am still shocked at how the Watchtower says things....I guess as a JW I never thought much about the people who were going to die with any compassion...I just couldn't wait to have a pet lion. I was so selfish......I am sad.

What is a troll? (I have seen the word and am just curious)...Is it a JW that is just trying to sneak in here and stir things up? (Because if you are in the SOCIETY it would be a sin (and may result in death) to visit these web-sites.....according to the MEN who make the rules...

The person writing this does go to the extreme to make a point, but it is based on facts. Imagine that you are a JW. Imagine that you now have a Watchtower society telling you what you can and can't do for the rest of your life. Imagine feeling guilty for never measuring up. Imagine being worried that your family is never measuring up....You start getting depressed about all your sinning....You may have a good day and feel like you are going to live through Armegeddon one day, then since you did something the SOCIETY said was wrong, the next day you think you have lost Jehovah's favor....you might die. It is a vicious cycle that all who have been in the religion felt and we are now happy to have our lives back.(and you don't get the true feel for it untill you dedicate your life to the SOCIETY)

Leah...the problems with the JW's usually are not the indivisuals that are in each congregation....But with the teaching they have been taught to follow and believe without even knowing their own history. You may be able to find some info here and help some people see some facts! God Bless you Leah!

just a few notes.

the entire ass-embly was dealing with materialism or higher education; apparantly one leads to the other.

why cant the wts realize that higher education is not just a means to get rich or ahead in this system, but a means to have a career outside of janitorial work?
