OM - great news! It feels good to do what is right instead of being told to do something by the WTS that is so very wrong.

i think it's obvious that the answer must weigh in favor of the more humble gender.
and what's more humble that posing a question with an obvious answer for the sake of letting the weaker gender feel better about themselves?
therefore, "male" is the obvious answer.
Are you looking for sex, advice, help moving, money, intuition... let us know and an answer will be forthcoming. Maybe not the best of answers, but an answer nonetheless:)
i read on a facebook thread some talking about going to a jw therapist, i didnt't know there were any.
i remember a young girl that da and my mother blamed it on a "worldly" therapist.
knowing what i know of her family it had to be the best decision of her life.. .
Most Witness therapist are not university trained, they take courses in NLP or other. If you find a Witness therapist that has been formally trained and licensed let me know. Several "worldly" therapist are very experienced in helping JWs.
With regard to helping your sister to see the need to see a therapist, you might help her reason that if we have a broken arm we do not try to treat it ourselves, rather we see someone trained to treat such a condition. Our mind and emotions are no different, sometimes they are broken and one needs to seek treatment. It is no different than seeing a medical doctor.
All the best,

new light!.
there are numerous reasons why a loyal dedicated servant of god should use his bible-trained conscience to arrive at a proper understanding of why cats are not advisable as pets or companions for christians.
consider, then, the following facts: .
Thanks, RAS, this is really funny and well written!
as i listened to the brother giving the public talk.
sunday, he mentioned several times how close we.
are to the end.
Sir82 - nice point. Some witnesses go "all-in" and the cost of admitting that they were duped is too costly to the mind and body. It would result in such emotional pain. Others may say they believe, but it is pretty clear from their actions that somehwere deep down they do not...
Their subconscious minds do this. The implications of it not being close (missed opportunities in life, shunning of close family & friends, the prospect of death) are too painful for the conscious mind to bear, so they "whistle in the graveyard" by commenting about how "it can't go on much longer".

The governing body certainly does not believe the end is near. When they go to conventions or to give talks in local kingdom halls they do not mix with people to save them from sudden destruction and they typically do not engage in the field service. Rather they are cloistered from those who need saved and who need spiritual help. The gospel-jesus mixed with those who needed spiritual help. They are so far removed from the work described in the gospels that even suggesting that they are Christ's brother is a joke.
In addition to the personal behaviors of the governing body and its lackeys, the massive building projects, the removal of the bookstudy arrangement, the focus on meeting/assembly attendance rather than saving souls also shows that deep down they do not believe the end is coming.
We have been on vacations with several high ranking witnesses (whatever that means) and there is not preaching, there is not an effort to reach people and save them. It is relaxation to the full.
Bottom line, the current activities of the leaders of the WTS illustrate that they do not believe the end is coming. I am sure there are some local brothers and sisters that do believe but they seem to be a minority. Most local pioneers knock on very few doors. Most local elders do fake witnessing - a little coffee, a little shepherding, a little windshield time - and it seems that only one or two individuals in each congregation really do the best that they can do.

hello to all.
maybe this is a stupid question, since jw's don't celebrate christmas, but, as jw's, how did you spend your christmas?
what did you feel when everyone else was celebrating?
We always take a trip on or near xmas. In the past it was a ski trip, more recently it is a trip to the coast. This year (about a week ago) we volunteered at a shelter for battered women. We were not able to meet the family that we helped, but we did meet the case worker and she explained how our contributions were used in great detail. It was a blast to provide real help to a family instead of offering them the xmas issue of the WT.

on top of that one of my sons is bringing home a girl friend who is flying over from austria.. i'm thinking maybe lasagna.
i'm pretty good at that, but it doesn't seem real traditional.
the beef is so bad around these parts, i don't dare do a crown roast and besides that cost around $60.00.. what is your favorite dinner?.
Restrangled - if your family likes mexican food, they have wonderful traditions with tamales, chicken mole and other tasty reasonably priced dishes. You can buy tamales at Costco that are very good. Have a wonderful time with your family!

i can't think of one.
anyone .

Lloyd Barry is the only one. Albert Schroeder did not have an accredited degree. As noted above, "Bert" and Barry were largely responsible for the tolerant view of education. With Barry's death the writing vs service department war was lost by writing and the hardline policy returned. We had opportunity to spend sometime with "Bert" and Judah Ben. Judah seemed to be very open about the faults of the WTS as an organization (not its teachings). He had a lot of good ideas to change the structure and some of the organizational processes. I don't think he was taken that seriously. I think that was a factor in he and his wife leaving Bethel and pursuing a law degree. He wanted the credentials to be taken seriously at Bethel.
