I do not require 6 gas burners under a gleaming copper hood in order to prepare a satisfying meal.
Do you?
Actually, Dear CoCo, let's face it. Some of the best meals we have ever eaten were cooked over a campfire.
Love,
Baba.
i awake in a place that clearly is not home.. looking about in a blurry daze, the expected trappings of bed, chair and scuffed, dirty walls have somehow disappeared during my wretched slumber.
all the familiar has slid away, swirling downward, but not swallowed, into an eerily black vortex above which my stiffened body floats unaffected by the devouring maelstrom.
my immediate surroundings are an atmosphere of greenish hue that is part of what appears to be sky.
I do not require 6 gas burners under a gleaming copper hood in order to prepare a satisfying meal.

Congratulations!!! On... well... everything! You indeed have many, many reasons to celebrate.

I don't see how he will ever do better than the "Dapper Dan Man". I love him in those bizarre character roles.
i got a call yesterday from a very dear and close friend.
we go back over 20 years .

I wish the best for you and your dear friends, Dear OldFlame. Strength, hope, and healing to Olga.
Love,

i'm back from the spring assembly, theme "the time left is reduced", 1 corinthians 7:29. the presentations were smug in the face of a torrent of world wide tough news stories.
these should be the glory days for the assemblies.
however, attendance is down, significantly.
Hello and welcome Amnesiano!
critical thinking, ie.
"independent thinking", is still a relatively new concept for me.
for the majority of my life i avoided having opinions, scoring poorly in school on reports were we were supposed to give our opinion on political, social, or controversial issues.
Terry, that list of books has just made my day!

sorry if this starts off as a kind of a downer.. i am 29, and my husband and i have stopped going to meetings since last october.
we live in mexico and used to attend the english.
long story short, after realizing how many much we've been lied to we stopped going to our meetings, moved out of the territory, switched to spanish, and after a month of attending just vanished.
Regarding the feelings of loss, this relates to what is known as the Kübler-Ross "stages of grief". You can grieve over any loss, even the loss of a wallet. Certainly the loss of your fundamental belief system qualifies!

Hello and welcome! I love your user name "Here I am!" It works on several levels... we're glad you're here.
You have a LOT going on. Not only is the new little one a blessing and a huge responsibility, your hormones are all over the place. Just stop, breathe, and be good to yourself.
Secondly, for most... life is not all rosy immediately after discovering the TRUTH about the "(T)ruth". It is not easy to have your entire life's fundamental teachings snatched out from under you. It is not easy to discover that the ones you put your purist trust in were LYING to you.
Allow yourself to go through a bit of a mourning period for the loss of your beliefs. It may take time. You will probably feel angry and sad before you come to a place of acceptance and then... joy.
Believe me, it DOES get easier, and much, much better!!! Keep reading, keep posting.

Baba.
