  my frequent walks these last few years about the neighborhood so familiar to me would ordinarily be construed a pleasant enough non-event.

  a little mild exercise - taken in small doses to keep the joints operating properly - and a keen eye peeled for the ever-changing face of nature have rendered the daily promenade a suitable diversion.

  to the household of god, israel, those who go with... and those who are considering perhaps going with... may you all have peace!.

  from time to time i have confessed here that the things i share are not mine, that i don't know any of these things on my own, but that they are given to me by my lord, the holy one of israel, jaheshua mischajah, who is the son and christ of the most holy one of israel, jah of armies.

  i want to share with you an experience that might help you grasp just what i mean.. a little over a year ago i was contacted by someone who professes to be of the body of christ, but who was still in the wtbts organization.

  Wife love-bombed...HELP ME!

  i thought the fade was speeding up and there was light on the horizon for me and my family.

  then yesterday my wife gets love-bombed and is ready to go back to the dubs.

  i'm angry, cynical, depressed, disillusioned, you name it.. i don't know what to do for her.

  Mad Sweeney, I agree with the posters who are telling you not to be too concerned over this reaction to the "lovebombing". I would like to add that sometimes zealousness is a last-ditch effort... or a reaction to having doubts (one hopes to heal oneself from having doubts by doing MORE in Jehovah's "service". That reaction usually doesn't last long, either.)

  And Mr. Flipper, thank you for the Hassan quote. It is an awesome reminder.

  I Am Not at Home Here.

  i awake in a place that clearly is not home.. looking about in a blurry daze, the expected trappings of bed, chair and scuffed, dirty walls have somehow disappeared during my wretched slumber.

  all the familiar has slid away, swirling downward, but not swallowed, into an eerily black vortex above which my stiffened body floats unaffected by the devouring maelstrom.

  my immediate surroundings are an atmosphere of greenish hue that is part of what appears to be sky.

  It is not as comfortable, to be certain, but perhaps you could use this time to be a lurker in civilization itself... and take the time to do some people-watching?

  As proclaimed a the end of a film, "There are eight million stories in the naked city." How many stories are there in your library (not including the hardbacks?)

  Onereason for a gentleman fader to stay reasonably associated...

  one congregation phenomenon i have observed in a variety of halls - older, not so model material brothers have a real chance with younger, attractive sisters - and often at the prodding of the young sisters parents and congregation members.. and if you have a little more scratch than the average jw brother (which isn't hard to do with a bunch of window washers), you really have an advantage.. a 40 year old man walking through the mall would have zero chances with an attractive 18+ year old girl.

  but take that same man, who has been faithfully attending meetings and doing all the right things and put him in the kingdom hall and suddenly anything is possible.. sad, but true.. of course, who wants all the drama that comes with a girl that young - but it is something i have observed.. when i was in my early 20's and came back into "the truth", and i had a few dollars - and i had so many sisters tripping all over themselves for me... and the ages range from late teens to late 30's.

  it was crazy.

  Why would any man want a partner who:

  • Lets old men in Brooklyn dictate what happens in a couple's bedroom
  • Was raised in FEAR and has lots of hang-ups and issues with depression but refuses to go to a counselor because it is "frowned upon"
  • Will not be supportive of ANYTHING the man does besides "progressing in the (T)ruth"
  • Will not only be "supportive" but pushy and DEMANDING (and sometimes even pouty) about "progressing in the (T)ruth"
  • Will let the man die for need of a blood transfusion
  • Will also let their children die for want of a blood transfusion
  • Will raise children in the same organization of dread and fear (same fear, different year.)

  I'm not sure I see any benefits here.
