Warwick, New York: This complex will serve as the new world headquarters of Jehovah’s Witnesses . Existing empty buildings have been removed from the site. The Witnesses have obtained a parcel of land 10 kilometers (6 mi) away, in Tuxedo, New York, to stage machinery and building materials. The relevant local authorities have accepted the final environmental impact statement for the project. Once the site plan is approved, an application will be made for building permits. In the meantime, the world headquarters of Jehovah’s Witnesses continues to operate from Brooklyn, New York.

JULY 15th Study Watchtower - NEW LIGHT IS FANTASY
by The Searcher inthe july 15 study watchtower uses all 4 study articles to try to inculcate into every witnesses' mind that the governing body is indisputably god's sole channel of communication on earth.
to do so, it uses a multitude of scriptures along with seriously flawed un-inspired reasoning.
the foundation stone of this watchtower's blatant agenda is the claim that when jesus used only a few to dispense the physical food to the many, he was setting a principle which would be applied to the distribution of spiritual food after he returned to heaven.

Excellent The Searcher.
Good observation EdenOne. At least we know Jesus had 70 disciples by the time he was on earth.

Questions Regarding the New Light on the FDS
by Ding init's my understanding that the old light regarding the faithful and discreet slave was that in 1918-1919 jesus appointed the faithful and discreet slave over all his house.. but under the new light, it's a two-stage process.. now the "truth" is that in 1919 jesus appointed the governing body to provide spiritual food in due season and the gb will only be placed in authority over his domestics during the great tribulation.. all of this is wt nonsense, but in order to get jws who believe this stuff to think about the implications, my questions are:.
1. what will the future appointment authorize the governing body to do that is not yet authorized?.
2. since under the old light the governing body has wrongly believed they have had this authority since 1919, doesn't this mean they have been wrongly exercising authority that jesus hasn't yet given them?.

Excellent questions.
1. What will the future appointment authorize the Governing Body to do that is not yet authorized?
I think they explained that they will be appointed to Christ's Kingdom belongings aftter the Big A, along with the rest of the annointed. Problem is this parable a.k.a. "prophecy" says that the only ones receiving these things from the Lord is the FDS. There's a lot of annointed that don't make it to the FDS, including the 12 original apostles.
Go figure!

The resurrection fantasy, the last desperate illusion?
by Slidin Fast inas people get older they inevitably lose more of their friends and family.
the doctrine that binds them to the truth like superglue is the doctrine of the resurrection.
they ache to see their dead rise.. so ... i die.

" This is a very poignant thread. I just realized that those pictures of welcoming back a resurrected loved one at a grave site means that everyone would be standing ontop of the remains of their dead loved one. Imagine, being resurrected and digging up the grave site to see your own dead remains. Talk about cognitive dissonance."
That's creepy.

Interesting quotes from the Feb 15th Watchtower (it's not a cult at all, honest!)...
by cedars inwell it's the 15th today, so i thought i'd check to see whether the feb 15th watchtower has been uploaded yet... and sure enough it has.. here is the link to the pdf.... http://download.jw.org/files/media_magazines/5a/w_e_20130215.pdf.
i've breezed through it and noticed that it is littered with odd stuff that would scream "cult!
" to an outsider, but which your average indoctrinated jw will just lap up as always.. here is my pick of the quotes.... the first article, entitled "this is our spiritual heritage" gives a very flattering whistle-stop tour of the history of god's organization - from abraham to tynedale to rutherford (bypassing russell altogether) before explaining that nothing will ever thwart jehovah's purposes.

They are obsess with God's name. Even they say nobody knows how to pronounce God's name. So, if it were so important, don't you think He would have make sure to preserve its pronunciation?
