  i don't think so.sorry if you are one i have nothing against you personnally, nor jw's come to think of it, but offering your version of truth to jw's is for them to jump out of the frying pan into the fire.. the bible is the root of jw problems , and following that book in which ever way you wish will always be in error..

  Hello Ozzie,

  I just can't imagine myself ordering a bottle of wine called LONG FAT REDBUD. It sounds like a strange bird or something. How on earth does someone come up with a name like that? It would have to be good with a name like that, I suppose. Do you know if this is available in the U.S.? I can't figure out where in the heck Francois really lives......but I have a feeling that he just might be in the states. How 'bout it Frank?? What made you try a wine with a name like that? It must have been highly recommended by someone. It sort of reminds me of.......who ate the first artichoke?? That person must have really been hungry. dj

  Inactive.....but curious....

  i was just thinking after reading some of the posts, and wanted to ask you something..... do any of you feel, and i mean right in the back of your minds, that jws might still have the true faith (truth).

  i've been inactive for a few years now and don't attend meetings at the kh, apart from the memorial, and occasional convention.

  please don't shout me down, its just that to me, even though i've been out for a while and my reasons for "drifting" away were very painful to me, i don't feel as the majority do here.

  Hi Scooby,

  I can remember thinking the same way as you do now. It has been 7 yrs. for me since I left. I had fears and guilt and it became a terrible cycle. I from suffered depression and anxiety, I practically worried myself to death! For me, praying was what helped me. I asked if this was the truth or not, told God that I was sorry for being so confused and I asked for his guidance. Can you believe that I actually was afraid at first to ask for his help. I thought that he might smush me right then and there! I also thought that a demon might grab me for doubting! I was an absolute mess! He answered me. I'm free.

  I would also suggest that you do the research on the sites that are posted above. If you really want the truth, then ask God for it. Seek and you shall find. If he set me free, he will set you free but you have to ask. Read Matt 11:28..........how can you do what Jesus said to do if you won't seek him? Don't be afraid. You probably will be, after all you have been taught not to. They are misled. Trust Jesus not man!

  You will need some support and you are welcome here anytime. I relate to what you are going thru. I used to think that I would never ever ever be able to progress but I am so happy to tell you that I am 100% free from the teachings that almost killed me. love, dj

  <p>i am a much happier person now that i've excepted the fact that&nbsp;i will die one day.

  </p> <p>for 23 years i've been brought up in the jehovahs witness religion, and recently i found myself on the outside looking in, not the inside desperately seeking the answer and trying to please god, feeling guilty when&nbsp;i missed meetings etc...but no more.

  it's taken a while to de-program myself in thier way of thinking.

  No, I don't think it has "clinically proven" that this woman is an alcoholic. Based on everything that apostateman has stated it seems obvious though. Don't you agree? Someone who hides 6 packs in their kids toys, etc, etc. clearly has a drinking problem. I hope that apostateman has some form of evidence to back up what he claims. Here, we just believe him.......in court he has to prove it, I know. Apostateman........................................do you have any sort of evidence to back up the alcoholism??

  I'm sorry that you sensed elitism. It is not that I feel you are unhelpful! The last thing that I have is elitism about being a jw! It's more like regrets. Anyway, I liked the story about your daughter..good 4 her!!! I hope that Jane realizes what a wonderful friend your daughter is. However, this girl was still only studying, therefore we cannot come to the conclusion that she was fully indocrinated. In such cases an xjw is better suited only because and I stress "ONLY" because they can relate. A christian who did not have the misfortune of being a jw cannot relate to the fear tactics or the deeply ingrained level of beliefs. Their mindset is so completely different that it makes makes it practically hopeless. I never do say never, but it is the norm.

  It is not judging you jgnat! It is not about you as a person at all! It is about the brainwashing! It is never the fault of the Christian if they cannot get through to the jw! It is the jw who just can't hear until some of his fears are surrendered and jw's are able to do that ONLY because they'd had the same fears.

  I absolutely believe that the ultimate eye-opening power is God's ALONE. We can only be used by him to reach someone. I hope that he will use you soon to help your boyfriend, just as he used your sweet daughter! love, dj

  I'd like to try to help you see that the idea of 'lock-step unity' of Christians is a very different thing from the JW's idea of unity. The jw's believe that a "division" is anytime one of their members doesn't agree with every single detail of every single little teaching. This, however is not the case with Christians!! We agree about what is truly important and that is the gospel...the saving grace of God. As far as different opinions about uncertain things (like if hell is actually fiery or not) they tend to not make an issue over differing opinions about the specifics. The only thing that really really matters to a Christian is the fact that Christ died for their sins to give them salvation and out of the realization of that unbelievable gift comes the desire to serve him and fruits begin to flow~ in appreciation and a changed more loving heart, thru the holy spirit who dwells within us. One of the problems with the WT is not only that they don't teach the gospel but they also call everything 'division'. Division is not when one person wants to celebrate a holiday and another person does not....etc..etc... This is plainly stated by Paul in Romans. There is no division among the members of Christians when it comes to the basic truth. The rest is a matter of conscience that comes thru love. I hope that helps you see that it is ok if one Christian thinks hell is literal fire and another thinks it a separation. No big deal. Christians who have maturity will not argue over the specifics that are uncertain. It is not that they wouldn't love to agree about everything that is unclear in the bible but out of love for one another they don't make it a communist faith where all have to march in line or they are gone. See the difference? Paul also taught about how one person would eat meat offered to idols and one did not. That did not make or break the fact that they were Christians. The WT just doesn't get it. They put conformity above love.

  Can a Christian and a JW be happily married?

  my husband and i are currently separated (since 6/02) we have not ruled out the possibility of reconciliation and are working on some issues.

  about 2 years before this separation, we both started studying with jw's.

  we went to sunday meetings and had weekly in-home bible studies.

  Hi Janie.....thanks for answering my question about baptism. Since you have not ruled out a reconciliation, pehaps you can rule in a compromise! If you tell him that you are willing to consider reconciling if he is willing to look at both sides of his beliefs....maybe you can start there. Ask him to write down the reasons that he believes that they have the "truth". Once he has done that, we can help you with your responses. This perhaps will lead him in the right direction. His beliefs have to be able to stand up to scrutiny. He will not listen if he thinks that you got your info from so-called apostates. We can provide you will indisputable proofs for him to ponder. I hope that this helps some. I hate to see marriages fall apart because of these lies. It might be a good idea for you to seek counsel from other Christians, or Pastor or his wife. They will not be able to help you with the jw issue per say but they can help to support your faith. This is real spiritual warfare and I strongly recommend that you get as much support as you can from Christians as well as XJW- now Christians. Always remember to pray for strength and guidance.
