  I miss the "free" food.

  it used to make the conventions almost bearable.

  i rememeber telling the wife and kids to not put anything in any contribution box, because as the head of the family, i had taken care of it.

  Yeah I remeber your kind, first to the food and take all you wanted without any concern for others.I remember your kind then throwing said food out at the end of the day. What a waste!

  My kind? Hey it was a protest ok? I hated being there, and wanted to make them pay somehow for screwing with my life, my family and ....what don't they screw with?

I have no arguement with them" Your either lucky or blind to what is going on around you. But you should be able to see that many people DO have a problem with them and their false teachings. You know, I'm sure that there were those that thought Hitler was an OK guy to, and had no problem with him. He was still an evil man.

  Oh Dear...College is Bad?

  hello all, i haven't been here in forever!

  i just had to vent.

  sometimes we think we are past the healing process; that our lives can go on like everybody else.

  btw, "socialist paradise"? lol. Are you on crack or something? Or just a flatlander?

  Lets just say that the state I came from was free compared to California. If you are born and raised in California, it is much harder for you to see certain things. But when you are raised elsewhere, and then get dropped in all at once, it can be a shock.

  And after all, it didn't get its nickname of The Free Peoples Democratic Republic of Kalifornia for nothing. LOL.

  This is only for community colleges.

  Yes but if you start there, you basicaly get the first two years of your four year degree for free.

  If any dub kids want to go to college, down in Liberal Dubland (aka California) we can go to college.

  Isn't that the truth. There are a few advantages to living in this socialist paradise. - I rememeber what the instructor said at the orientation I went to, "Now I know this is California, but there might be a few people in here that have not filled out the FAFSA application because they do not like getting handouts. But don't think about it like that. Think about it like the State and Federal Government thinks about it - it is not a handout, it is an investment in you. They know that with a degree the odds are that you will get a much better job, and pay much more in taxes."

  In California you can get the BOG waiver (Board of Governors) - this pays your "tuition"

  You can also get the Federal "Pell Grant" - up to four thousand FRN's per year.

  Then there is the Cal Grant. And other m iscellaneous aid - not to mention student loans.

  All of the above is money that does not have to be paid back, as it is a "Grant."

  And it is all done on a sliding scale.

  Congratulations on your degree!! I want to go back and get my bachelor's (I have an associate's). But I don't know how I can afford it.

  Check out FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) You never know if you don't try, and it's free.

  It's one thing to hate what the WT does and did to it's members.......but no matter how much so-called knowledge one has these days..................the bottom line is...................some people have been and still are jerks.

I rememeber telling the wife and kids to NOT put anything in any contribution box, because as the head of the family, I had taken care of it. LOL. And you would not believe how wasteful I was. I remember one time I got 5 hoggies, and took one bite out of each. And one time I got a bag full of food and took it out to the homeless (aka bums) that were hanging around. Gee, I miss those days.

  Now I have graduated to putting nasty notes in the contribution boxes, and taping "the truth" on bathroom stalls.

  Firearms And Shooting...

  i thought i would open up a thread on firearms and shooting.

  personally i was raised around firearms as my dad was not a jw.

  some of my earliest memories are of my dad teaching me how to put a round in a fleas ass at 200 meters.

  That being said, I am very heistant about purchasing a gun without any education on this. COuld some of you post sites that will teach me what type of gun is appropriate, and are there places were I can be taught gun safety & be able to practice shooting?

  Every area I have ever lived in had at least one good gun club. Most of these offer a personal protection course that get you on the right road. Also if you can afford it, I highly recommend the training at Gunsite.
