Welcome
Hang in there, i think all on this board have gone thru similar hell because of the GB policy of shunning even when you are not df.
i'm brand new here but have been reading for months.
my sincere thanks to those who have come before me, shown me that i'm not alone, that i'm not nuts and not a loser.
i was raised a hoho, pioneered my best years away, i married a nice brother, my dad was an elder, one or of both my parents have been pioneers for 30 years+, we hosted bethel speakers and gb members in our home, my parents have had numerous circuit ass.
Welcome

one of my friends who still is "faithfull" told me he plans to go back to the dc this weekend, to catch a few talks that he missed due to being on bathroom attendant duty.
did any of you know (or were you prone) to go to the same dc or assembly to catch parts you missed?
frankly even when i was in if i missed it i did not feel the need to make up a meeting.
Few of the elders would do that because of missing certain talks.
Usually the ones that went back were still new and zealous, you never saw some of the old timer going back and spending money again just for a talk they missed.
Most of the elders as we well know enjoyed working and having fun with their buddies at DC than sitting and listening to the program in those
cramped, wooden seats.
questioning apostates
i recently read a post in which a man who was married for 27 years was on .
the verge of a divorce from his wife because she claims he is an apostate.. the apostasy was because he showed her the history of the watchtower.
The JW's when told about the UN scandal and other negative issues, they refuse to acknowledge it.
I had my wife and my brother in law just excusing the GB and even saying that at times the society has to do certain things in order to get things done for the benefit of the brothers.
It reminded me of the catholic church and how it can do no wrong even when history proves them otherwise.
that despite my sincere efforts of sincerity and honesty that most who interacted with me were rather uptight and rude.
i really dont understand it.
forgive my babbling.
Welcome
I am sort of new myself, so let me say if you need any help, there are some bright minds on this board that are always willing to assist and provide comfort.
if you read my other post you'll get the context but since this will be of great potential interest here it is: .
the jws are soon(next few months) going to make a public proclamation against all other churches which he was confident would 'shake things up' and would make a few jws unhappy???.
is this the big announcement for september?
good job Blondie.
Babylon fell according to the GB in 1918, now it needs to be destroyed by Jehovah. According to them the waters of Babylon have been drying up, losing its members and churches are closing everywhere.
As far as i know in the US more people go to church than ever before, and i have lived in many states i have not seen a church closing its doors.

It's nothing but a game to get the rank and file all excited about the door to door service, just like the track placed before the District Convention.
Everyone had an assignment of placing 50 of them, so they play on their guilt to place them. I noticed because of the tract, more are out in service in order to place them all.
how could anyone know objectively if they live in the "last days", if they fail to examine history?
how would anyone know if things were .
actually worse?
I would rather live todays last days than 400 years ago or 2000 years ago.
.
i'm very new to this and please understand, but at one time or another most everyone here was a loyal and faithful witness.. if you disapproove of it or don't fit in as i don't.
why keep pounding at them it is like an obsession.. i would really like to know.
How about losing your wife after 27 years because the watchtower comes first before anything else
.
is there anything that says that it consitutes an illegal act for a brother who served in a committee to then be the one to give the talk to the congregation?
Nothing illigal about it.
They can choose anyone they like from the body of elders if all have knowledge of the wrongdoing or usually is one of the JC. that gives the talk, which it is funny because if you were df's everyone will know why you were.(apostasy, immorality, fraud and so on)
.
does anyone know whether it is proper to keep a congregation file on a person if he was just accused of apostasy from family member.. if they keep that on file, does it follow you anytime you move to a new congregation?.
