Just reviewed your post and realized you said you were 20. Sorry about that. How are you as far as independence at this point? Are you through with school? You have the right to do whats right for you.

I had "worldly" boyfriends aplenty at your age. I didn't get into real trouble until I started dating a JW. I sympathize with you, as the JW prospects are pretty slim, and as I remember, a total turn off. The problem is, all boyfriends in your teens have the potential of taking away from time needed to concentrate on your future.
You are still young, don't get into trouble, (if thats possible)! If you are babtized you will pay the piper for any behavior not considered within the society's guidelines.
You have plenty of time for boyfriends. Concentrate on school, further education and your future so that when you are on your own you have true independence and the freedom to pick and choose as you please. Boyfriends come and go quickly at this age. The next is right around the corner.
Just my 2 cents.

i heard that one of my local congo is going to experiment with moving all the bookstudys to saturday mornings just before fs.
can't tell if this is just a local thing or part of something bigger happening in the org.
anyone know?
My mom has been attending a Sat. morn. bookstudy for years. It is usually attended by older members as they have difficulty going out at night.
After my mom bought a new home one block from the hall she is now hosting the study in her home on Tues. nights, ie: doesn't have to go out.
They have a "goody night" once a month, (everyone brings deserts and coffee is served)....she leaves the kitchen etc., open and usually goes to bed as she gets too tired.
Her large black cat stays and socializes with everyone. :) He is the star of the show the entire evening, going from lap to lap purring loudly during the study. I am sure he alleviates much boredom.

i just had dinner with 2 cousins who have not been involved with the jw's for years.
i was telling them about everything i have learned here about the un scandal, philip morris connection, stock in the military engine, and latest vows at the assembly to stay off the internet.
they sat in awe, forks poised in midair, and then slowly dropping those loaded forks back down to their plates.
Dear Lady Liberty,
THANK YOU!!!! You have been a huge help, all links have been copied and pasted already. If anyone else can add to these on other stinking scandals ..... thanks!

Over the past 3 months I have seen the exact documents but after spending an hour tonight, still cannot find the links or threads where I found them. I have found other subjects but the ones I've listed, I cannot seem to locate.
If anyone can help it would be very much appreciated----they will be forwarded to their emails.
Thanks in advance.

dear all,.
my husband came back from a 3 day camping trip in northern il.
he was fine up until last week.. suddenley, he was so exhausted, achey, and had a constant headache 2 weeks later.
I am replying to my own post. Husband back from the doctor. He is in very serious condition due to confirmed lyme disease.
Just thought you might all like to know. Large red perfect circle rash, exhaustion, cough, headache, and aches.
Doctor in Florida took one look and went nuts that he had not been in sooner. We thought it was the flu until rash was found.
Just for your FYI.
Thanks for listening.

Dear All,
My husband came back from a 3 day camping trip in Northern IL. He was fine up until last week.
Suddenley, he was so exhausted, achey, and had a constant headache 2 weeks later. He literally did not have the energy to get out of bed the past 4 days. This is an active in shape man, aged 48, with no physical problems.
Low and behold we found a huge red rash on the back of his leg. A solid ring of red measuring 6 inches accross, with a small purple center.
At first we thought it was a bite from a recluse spider but learned they are rare in Florida. After further research, the rash and his sysmptoms mimicked lyme disease. He is at the doctor's office right now, but I am concerned that here in Florida, Dr.s have little to no experience with ticks. His symptoms have been the mirror of a lyme disease infection.
Any experiences or suggestions.
Thanks,
R.
i have been gone a few weeks on vacation.
visited with many family members, most out, but one long time hold out due to circumstances beyond her control.
the visit was marred by my mothers constant phone calls to an uncle stating he should not be talking to me, and he was guilty of sending me mixed messages.
I have been gone a few weeks on vacation. Visited with many family members, most out, but one long time hold out due to circumstances beyond her control. The visit was marred by my mothers constant phone calls to an uncle stating he should not be talking to me, and he was guilty of sending me mixed messages. As some of you know I am neither DF's or Da'd. Been gone almost 30 years. After a talk entitled "Obiedience or Innovation" by a 30 year old Circuit overseer with no children, my mother decided to take it upon herself to shun me. Quoting the typical scriptures and saying it was discipline from Jehovah.......No word or action from the local KH...mind you.
Anyway, my uncle who is still in and his wife were thrilled to see me....until the phone calls started, sadly I did not see them again.
His youngest daughter was a full time pioneer for many years, home schooled her girls and was married to a "beloved" elder. He refused to work for years, had them on food stamps, and cut her off from all her family members, including her parents who were still in, (my uncle)
After visiting, and enlightening her on several websites, this relative got up the courage to tell her husband to leave. He promptly fell apart, and gossiped to everyone that she was evil. He had all their friends convinced she was no good. Her own father warned her "There will be no divorcing, if you divorce him you disconnect yourself from Jeh." She told her father, I have two options, "I divorce or I commit suicide." His response, "It would be better if you commit suicide." Turns out after 2 elder's meetings, her husband was removed, she was given the green light for divorce and told that this man had wasted 20 years of her life. On the negative side she was informed she would be watched like a hawk, and any dating et.al. would be grounds for disfellowshipping.
Little do they know she has been waiting 10 years to accomplish what she did, feels agnostic, and is on the path to financial, mental, spiritual, and physical freedom. I am so proud of her.
Thanks to all of you for your mental support which in turn I was able to relay to her.
One step at a time.
Regards,
R.
i visited my jw son and daughter - who were raised in the faith - in may.
my son is 37 years old, intelligent and is a hard worker and a good provider for his family.
we were having breakfast when my daughter-in-law mentioned the ' lump' on my sons back.
Dear Lowden,
Most herbs prescribed contribute nothing to health. Have many books on it. They can temporarily reduce sysmptoms but are not a long term cure. They can also interfere with prescribed meds, and many contribute to high blood pressure.
I will not back off of my opinion. My aunt was a big herb fanatick, wound up in the hospital with a huge hematoma in her stomach.....the doctors were furious with her for her intake of various "prescribed" herbs and told her to knock it off.
