Have you ever noticed how similar the Society is to a Multi-Level Marketing Business?
by SAHARA inmaybe this discussion has already taken place on this forum, or maybe some of you may scoff at this observation as just stating the obvious, but i think it may be worth while to post this for those of you who have yet to discover this paralell.
i was involved in a mlm business in the insurance industry from 1993 - 2000. this life insurance agency was started in 1977 by just a few individuals and had grown by recruiting average working class people to become part-time sales agents and sold them the american dream.
in just a few years time, this agency entered every state and grew into a sales force of roughly 200,000 people, part time and full timers, and by 1984 had become the #1 seller of life insurance in the country for approximately 15 years straight.

SELF-TESTING for the influences of MIND-CONTROL
by Terry inif you have been "brain washed" the control of your thinking has been wrested away from you and diverted.. .
hidden cues have replaced the ordinary path of logical analysis when examining your world.. .
think of this like a detour sign on a highway.

"All true Christians should love their enemies. Absolutely True."
Does this mean that JW's have to love so-called apostates?

IS THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT: Absolutely True, Somewhat True, False or Absolutely False?
"Economic growth is beneficial."
It may not always be Mind Control. Never doubt the human capacity for self deception.

You may not have read the Apologist version of 607 b.c.e.
by Terry injerusalem 607 bce vindicatedapostates and other opposers argue that jerusalem was not destroyed in 607 bce, but in 587 bce, and provide what they claim is archaeological evidence to support this.
read this chapter.... 5: servitude to the king of babylon for 70 years?.
read this chapter.... 9: the 70 years for tyre.

I tend to disagree, Terry. That web site is poorly written. Sure, the author pushes buttons, but who are his readers anyway? A loyal Witness won't go beyond the Watchtower publications. Questioning Witnesses will likely read many alternative points of view. I think most would find this drivel insulting to their intelligence. If they aren't satisfied with what the WTS provides by way of explanation , why would this comfort them?

How error entered the religious world
by hoj inadam and eve were to eat of any of the trees of the garden except the one.
they must have been fruit trees, since they were to eat of them.
eating (and drinking) in the bible is figurative of partaking of a message.

Not always. Certainly depends on the context. Most of the time eating and drinking mean just that and nothing more.
You are just another person with a fixation on Satan. We get so many on this board. The Watchtower Society certainly encourages that kind of fearful thinking. And we also get lots of religious fanatics with their own brand of truthiness who never make the effort to read some real Biblical Scholarship.
Maybe Leolaia will post a comment on this thread. Now THAT would be an interesting read.

Making excuses for the ignorance of the Bible writers?
Why not just accept the fact that you believe in the Bible simply because you were told it was true by ignorant people who were following centuries old traditions? Being ignorant is not a crime. But businesses like the WTS take advantage of such ignorance to steal lives and fortunes.
The Bible writers knew nothing about Galilean astronomy, the nature of light, the process of fusion, stelar evolution, the periodic table, DNA... Do I need to go on? If you had been raised with emphasis on the sciences instead of Fundamentalist religious superstition, and had then read the Bible, you would not try fitting a square peg into a round hole by trying to fit Scriptures to reality in the 21st Century.
I agree with Donny except that I began to doubt the Bible even before I put the WTS under scrutiny.
Oh, and about the "morality" of the Bible, it always amazed me that a man who committed incest with his daughters could still be referred to as "righteous," and yet god killed Lot's wife for turning around. Some morality that.
