Again with the above conditions, maybe in Palestine during Jesus's life, assuming he actually existed. I'd like to see what really happened. Water into wine? Hah!

As long as I was wealthy and in good health, I'd like to live in ancient Greece during its golden age.
The reason? 'Cause it's a "classic."

Will my pet lion die?
by peacedog inhey just wondering, when i get my pet lion in the new system,tm am i going to have to suffer the loss of my beloved pet?.
i recently lost my pet and being an animal lover, let me tell you, i took it pretty hard.
lots of "tears" along with plenty of "mourning" and "outcry" and "pain"... .

Satanus: How many lost lion pets would it take to give up on having pets? Ten, 100, 1000?
Think about it. Lion after lion after lion into eternity.
I'm bored just thinking about it.

Shunning inactive JW? I never heard about it before....
by Albert Einstein infrom many of your posts ive noticed some of you, who never were df or da are practicaly shunned by your family memebers or congregation memebers.
does that really mean they wouldnt talk to you or greet you, if they meet you on the street or if you call them?.
i live in eastern europe and i never in my life heard about such attitude.

"Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe to stumble, it would be better for him if, with a heavy millstone hung around his neck, he had been cast into the sea." (New American Version)
So many here started their journey because of unkind and unwarranted treatment at the hands of self-righteousness dubs. By their own interpretation of the above scripture, they are more guilty in the eyes of their God than those they victimize.

I was never "marked," DFed, or DAed, but some dubs from my old KH shunned me anyway. Some did not. I moved from the area soon afterward (for other reasons).
If it's practical, I recommend that strategy (moving away -- you don't have to go far) to anyone who's being harrassed by dub attention or snubbing. It's so peaceful not having the constant irritation of running into, and being shunned by, dubs you used to know.

by AdaMakawee ini'm down with the flu right now, and of course the first thing i want is my chicken soup.

No chicken soup. Just 7-Up for an upset stomach.

WT Hypocrisy: Pick Your Jaw Up Off The Floor
by metatron infrom the dec. 15 "let's take a swan dive off the temple mount in regard to employment" issue, page 28.
"teenagers have experienced opposition from unbelieving parents.
some have even been ordered out of the home, but they were taken in by kindly witnesses.

JW teenagers --> booted out by unbelieving parents = "mistreatment."
Ordinary teenagers --> booted out by JW parents = blessed by Jehovah.
Maybe if I type this several hundred more times, it will make sense.

a thought about copyrighted materials
by actage ini am very new to this board and have already have ready a post mentioning copyright laws in japan.
and have seen the full text of a non-watchtower book be made free to users here.. now i don't mind watchtower magazines being made free here because jws give away their literature all the time anyways.
but when i see a book being offered that must be purchased normally on amazon or waldenbooks i get a little mad.. say someone who visits this board works at a book seller or printer/publisher.

Slightly weird mess-up by the Society...service meeting part
by sir82 inif there's one thing the society loves, it is punctuality and regularity.. every year for at least the past 30 years, without fail, you could set your atomic clock by it, what is the primary topic of the 1st service meeting in january?.
you find out where and when your district convention will be that year.. so, looking at the december km, sure enough, there is an insert covering the usual topics (don't save seats, arrive on time, spit out your gum, don't pee in the hotel pool, etc.)..
but wait a minute!

What's going on at HQ that they miss such an obvious error as this?
They laid off the brother in charge of that. He's back home, living in his parents' basement.
