My Very First Internet Article
by Farkel init was around 1996 or so when i starting my mean old apostate-opposer "career.
" while rooting around the internet looking for some other information, i ran across the very first article i wrote and put on the internet back then .
i didn't know it even still existed as i had lost from my computer a long time ago.. for nostalgia purposes, i decided to share it:.

Witty, well-written, and devastating (to dubs).
Please, please, PLEASE, Farkel, gather all your writings together and get that book going. Nothing else destroys as well as ridicule does. The reading public would never recover from laughing at the WTS. The WTS would never recover, period.

What do Yankees know about the South?
by undercover in1. what was the largest city in the south ( of the states that later made up the confederacy) in 1860?.
2. what was the worst maritime disaster in the south's (and america's) history?.
3. what city was the original capital of the confederacy?.

I suppose you tend to like what you grew up with (except for dubs).
I'm a yankee (Pennsylvania) who has visited the South many times and loved it -- the food, the hospitality, the whole works. Except for grits -- I've never had grits in any form that tasted palatable to me. And I've tried them with everything.
Some northern goodies -- Boston baked beans (the real thing, slow-baked in a beanpot for hours), Philly cheese steaks, New England clam chowder, whoopie pies, potato candy, lobster.

Who does not like to have pets?

Rocco is a beauty, if a male bird doesn't mind being called beautiful.
I love all animals, and would have a house full of them except for two things -- I'm allergic to animal fur (all kinds) and I travel too much to make keeping a pet practical.

Is Atheism a Form of Blind Faith?
by passwordprotected inif god is outside of nature and therefore cannot be proved or disproved by science, is atheism a form of blind faith?
after all, it cannot be defended on the basis of pure reason.. steven jay gould said;.
"science simply cannot by its legitimate methods adjudicate the issue of god's possible superintendence of nature.

daniel-p: A lot about this debate can be summed up with one question: Who has the courage to exist in an uncertain reality?
I agree.
Buddhists have recognized this difference for centuries. Those who need to be reassured, to hold on to something "beyond themselves" in order to be comfortable are said to be following "the way of the kitten."
Those who can live with uncertainty, who recognize that everyone must walk the "trackless" path, are said to be following "the way of the monkey."
Maybe the whole belief-vs.-nonbelief debate is nothing more than different personality quirks.

Perry: I leave for two days and still no testimony from our atheist friends?
My atheist testimony is located at the top of page 10. Read and be amazed.
Perry: We'll here...I found one:
Yeeeaaaaaaah. That was written by an atheist for sure.
If atheists believe "nothing; then something," theists believe "nothing; then God; then something." God is just a middleman, an unnecessary complication. And if you say God always existed, that makes even less sense.

Can't remember the names of any of them. They were just a series of bland, vanilla-brained men whose only claim to fame was better public speaking skills than the average elder.

An Elder wrote anomously...
by Butterflyleia85 ini realize as an elder that i am speaking out against the very organization i try to faithfully represent, but i personally think that the governing body is wrong by teaching that only what they teach us, as printed in the watchtower publications, should be considered to be the truth.
theyve made the expression of any personal opinions or group debates over their official versions of biblical truths subject to disciplinary action often leading to someone being disfellowshipped.. .
that is why i feel that i must keep my own identity somewhat anonymous.

"So be honest with yourself. Are you really doing the right thing by denying the truth? What impression does that leave with those who are on the fence about joining us in preaching the good news? Is it not better to remain silent than to deny the truth?.....
....."I suggest that if you want to run a successful anti-Watchtower website you use the examples of this one (www.Ex-JW.com) or Randall Watters’ www.FreeMinds.org .
First he condemns us for denying the "truth" and influencing others away from it. Then he makes recommendations on how to run a "successful anti-Watchtower website." Ambivalent doesn't begin to describe this guy, assuming he is who he claims to be.
