Hmmm... as much as I'd love to, I think I might have to settle with not shaving for a few days! Thanks for your info as well, that Jehovah's fury talk, I think that was the one where we were told people wearing mini-skirts will not survive Jehovah's day of fury. Why would a God of love let mini-skirts though Armageddon eh? (Thankfully never been a problem for me!)

First I've heard that. Things have been pretty flatlined for years now. There are always yearly fluctuations, but what do you see as evidence of a comeback?
I can only speak for the UK, but each KM they bring out publisher figures for a certain month. Each month this Service year has been significantly higher than each corresponding month of the Service year before. (Slim did a topic on this: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/10/124995/1.ashx) Also, at my Assembly in March, a District Overseer said baptisms for this Service year were already higher than baptisms in all of last Service year, and no Conventions have even been held yet. It wasn't clear whether he meant UK or worldwide, but if UK is seeing a big increase, I would guess you'd see it in other areas.
The increase will include the many inactive coming back due to the ease of all those tract campaigns (This has been true in my Congregation at least)
None of this can really be officially confirmed till next February when the new figures are released.

It did seem that way until recently. But they seem to be starting to make a come back.
Indeed. We'll have lots of surprised and disappointed apostates when the figures come out next year.
I think most JWs have forgot about the 1995 change. Either that, or they're in denial as they never talk about it. I first learned of it on this board, and when I told JW associates around my age, they were all very surprised to learn about it.

Your post is informative- I mean it doesn't sound like you are asking for guidance, just want
us to laugh with you.Still, have you considered blowing it off- telling the School overseer that you just can't do it?
Otherwise, look for the most true stuff you can say with the material they give you and have fun.
Hi OTWO, Since my Dad was school overseer for a few years, I must have wrote about 20 last minute talks during my teenage years from people blowing him off with last minute calls, so even though it's been a while, I don't think I'll have much difficulty in writing it, (copying and pasting from the WT library) but I'm open to suggestions if anyone has any. I might blow it off, I haven't decided yet.
What chapters of the bible is it on? If any.

was talking with my therapist this morning and i made the comment "i guess i don't mind if she is a witness as long as it doesn't harm the kids.
" this got me thinking about all the ways that being raised as witnesses harms or can harm children.
1) teaches children to have an air of superiority regarding other human beings.
Children are raised with a very unhealthy view of sex.

But then, my wonderful Father, decides to ask the School overseer to put me back on! And what does he do? He puts me back on! With me completely oblivious to all this. And, since I've missed a few meetings of late, the school overseer gave the talk assignment slip to my Dad, which I didn't get till tonight, so I didn't even know till to 20 minutes ago!
I was annoyed, and then I saw the talk title:
'Armageddon - No violation of God's love'

Just imagine, if one man, Miller, had never lived, or had died young, we all would have led so very different paths in life! Perhaps... Many of us wouldn't even have lived.
as i walked to he newsagent,i saw a man with a leather bag and a woman putting child in pushchair, as i came back she was talking to a householder,hen as i walked down ,i saw a couple o women trying to buzzthe communal flats around the road,i went back ino my flat and waited.. because after a while,i haven't been knocked on, i looked out the communal door,only when i looked across the street did i see a man and woman.. later i heard the buzzers going for upstairs, so i slipped and saw this man talking to his(invisible)companion.. then when they walked to my communal door, i opened it and we had a conversion.. `we are bible students'.
he showed a tract`all sufering soon to end'.
i then asked if they had any mags.
