I haven't see my BF in a week or so because he had a business trip. We still haven't had a deep conversation about our beliefs yet. But the other day some JW's appeaered at the house. I didn't see them as I was out shopping. My Dad put a flea in thier ears (i.e was really rude) and sent them on their way. Now my question is whether or not I should take this as my BF trying to convert me? I don't know if they are from the same church of not so I can't trace it like that.
Or is the warm weather just bringing in a raft of new JW's going door ro door?
What do you guys think?

Love Is . . . . .
by nicolaou inwhen you give your 12 year old daughter a big squeeze when you get home from work.
she'll feign embarrassment and complain "oh dad" because she's not a 'kid' anymore but she won't pull away.

For those married to a JW
by Wendy_Warden inand they converted from the church.
as i've said before my boy friend is a jw.
for those of you who were dating a jw and they did leave the church, how did it happen?

Gold Morning : You know the tough part isn't the holidays and stuff. I mean, I guess that it would be annoying not to do them, but I don't really see that as the major problem. I could go without. Really the trinity and deity of Christ is the part that sinks me.
My BF is in no way going to convert me to JB. Personally a lot of our beliefs do agree and I think that was one of the things that brought us together...we were the only people like each other in the whole college. I love him very much and becuase of that I don't want to make a mistake by just tossing him as everyone seems to encourge. I am asking these questions so that I can have a full understanding of what I would be getting into if our relationship goes any deeper.

I should call the police on "SickofLies" JC committee
by kwintestal inanyone who listened to sol's recordings, would have heard at the end of the first recording of the second appeal meeting (the one that he showed up with a bearded jw named "sean") sol mentioning a second recording device that remained in a brief case recording the elders as they discussed sol's case without him present.
perhaps you are wondering what happened to those.
well, let me fill you in.. sometime while sol was dismissed from the group for the second time, the elders searched the brief case.

I was wondering about that. My BF is always a little shy/embarrassed to say anything about his church. I've never gone and I understand he can't come to mine, but still. I feel like asking him why he thinks the JW church discourages their followers from reading anything even the Bible without the direction of the church.
I actually read an old watchtower that said if a man were to study the scriptures without the "guidanceā of the org then they would be in darkness in two years time. If darkness is the freedom you have outside the JW then I think so. If your faith is truly and easily found in the word of God then you shouldn't have to worry about people reading it on their own. People in the Catholic and Amish churches are discouraged from reading the Bible as well. If darkness is freedom then go for the darkness. Wendy
