If this wasn't so disgusting, it would almost be funny. Gee, I wonder how you could find coded messages of
child molestation in the Watchtower magazine? I just happened to stumble on this quote for all your
reading pleasure!
The Watchtower 1st November 1995, pages 25-29
"What of the Alleged Abuser?
A person who actually abuses a child sexually is a rapist and should be viewed as such. Anyone victimized in this way has the right to accuse his abuser. Still, an accusation should not be made hastily if it is based solely on "repressed memories" of abuse. In this case the most important thing is for the sufferer to regain a degree of emotional stability. After the passage of some time, he may be in a better position to assess the "memories" and decide what, if anything, he wants to do about them. If there is some valid reason to suspect that the alleged perpetrator is still abusing children, a warning may have to be given. The congregation elders can help in such a case. Otherwise, take your time. Eventually, you may be content to let the matter drop. If, though, you want to confront the alleged perpetrator (after first assessing how you would feel about the possible responses), you have a right to do so.
What if the sufferer decides that he wants to make an accusation? Then the two elders can advise him that, in line with the principle in Matthew 18:15, he should personally approach the accused about the matter. If the accuser is not emotionally able to do this face-to-face, it can be done by telephone or perhaps by writing a letter. In this way the one accused is given the opportunity to go on record before Jehovah with his answer to the accusation. He may even be able to present evidence that he could not have committed the abuse. Or perhaps the one accused will confess, and a reconciliation may be achieved. What a blessing that would be!
If the accusation is denied, the elders should explain to the accuser that nothing more can be done in a judicial way. And the congregation will continue to view the one accused as an innocent person. The Bible says that there must be two or three witnesses before judicial action can be taken (2 Corinthians 13:1; 1 Timothy 5:19). Even if more than one person "remembers" abuse by the same individual, the nature of these recalls is just too uncertain to base judicial decisions on them without other supporting evidence. This does not mean that such "memories" are viewed as false (or that they are viewed as true). But Bible principles must be followed in establishing a matter judicially.
What if the one accused "though denying the wrongdoing" is really guilty? Does he "get away with it," as it were? Certainly not! The question of his guilt or innocence can be safely left in Jehovah's hands."
(end quote)
Now where would be the code in that?! Somebody page Professor Robert Langdon because there's a fly in my
spiritual food! I think they have a way of taking care of guys like this in prison. Now if you will excuse
me, I have get back to de-coding my Botticelli painting.

JWs Called at my House This Morning

Hey Hondo, I might have an answer for you. A big trend in my mom's congregation is phone witnessing. About once a month the study groups get together and comb through the obituaries. They pick out accidental deaths, suicides, usually young people where the family's grief is obviously more strong. Instead of calling to offer condolences, they give their speal about resurection and paradise, manipulating people at a vulnerable time. I've heard my mom do this, and I tell you the responses are explosive. Imagine losing your son or daughter and having one of these jokers pay you a "sympathy call."
There are many reasons they do this, the biggest being to cheat on their time cards, and unfortunately this method sometimes works. Of course they would never say it like this, nor would they ever write to the families, in case of any legal action. Clever, huh? -

Wow that sounds like the dubs typical paranoia. The other night I tried to get my mom to read Crisis of Conscience, at least the first page or the back cover. I said that if the WTS was telling the truth than this should be easy to prove wrong. I tried every possible way to make her see the truth, I even appealed to her vanity, saying that this was her big opportunity to prove all the aposates wrong, but it was too late, she had already heard of Ray Franz, "the chief aposate."
She never once considered the possibility that maybe this has something important to say, that reguardless of the subjest matter she should read it because I'm her son and I deserve her respect. But the Watchtower spits on family because the one thing they hate and fear the most is unconditional love.
Needless to say I gave up after nine and a half hours. -

Did Russell ask that no publications be written after he died?
by ackack inthere is a debate brewing on wikipedia over whether russell's will stated that no new publications be made by the watchtower society, and if rutherford violated his will.. the relevant portion from his will reads:as the society has already pledged to me that it will publish no other periodicals, it shall also be required that the editorial committee shall write for or be connected with no other publications in any manner or degree.. .
what's your opinion?.

Thanks Leolaia. Yes, this is sad to read but is it really that surprising? I mean it's Rutherford we're
talking about here. He would sell his own mother to build an extension on Beth Sarim, which for all we know
he probably did. Can you expext anything more from a guy who wormed his way into control of the Watchtower
mere months after Russell's death? The sucker probably wasen't even cold yet.

Convention Report - Deliverance At Hand?
by daniel-p inso i just got back from the convention - yes, feel pity on me... i had to attend all three days, spend money on a crappy hotel, sleep in a crappy town, sit on my ass for 8 hours a day, and all just to hear about the same old crap you can read in any watchtower.
i didn't take notes because not only would my head have exploded from the sheer boredom and stupidity, but i would be responsible for all your heads exploding as well.
are there any highlights?

That part about submission of women makes me boil with anger. It reminds me of my senior year of high school. I was put in quite a unique position with a JW girl. Somehow, we ended up as the only two people in school in a drama class (don't laugh, we were connected to other schools via TV, so it was a high tech drama class). Her name was Kayla. I didn't tell her my mom was a JW and my mom didn't know she was in my class. Everyone in school thought she was a freak and I have to admit that until I met her, so did I. Somehow we bonded and became close friends, and because of her and my mom I got to see the JW's from both an outsider's and an insider's point of view at the same time. I learned from Kayla that my mom's best friends whom she considered the most exemplary people on earth were closet alocholics.
She was the kind of person that was so fragile and scared of life that she seemed to be made of glass and that a strong gust of wind might knock her over and she would shatter into a million pieces. Forbidden to go to college, her parents forced her into diesel engine repair school to spend the rest of her life as a mechanic. After graduation I never saw her again. If you knew her than you knew that she had as much desire to be a mechanic as Randy Watters has to be a ballerina. What a waste.

*** WORLD CONSPIRACY AGAINST THE TRUTH ***
by Elsewhere inif what jehover's witnesses teach is true then there must be some sort of massive world wide conspiracy of religious leaders from all faiths and religions directed against the watchtower society.
there must literally be some sort of body of religious leaders who meet on a regular basis and say: "yes, we know the watchtower society has the truth, but it is up to us to lie to and deceive the six billion people on the earth into believing what *we* teach.".
one of my favorite ways of cornering a jehover's witness is by asking him point blank if he really, seriously, believes this.

You know, you have to hand it to the brilliant absurdity of the watchtower. Time and time again, their own
writing always comes back to bite them in the ass. They recycle the same garbage every five years and pass
it off as "spiritual food." As for the rank and file, have pity on them, for they truly know not what they
do.

Lots of Bethelites Not Happy With Downsizing
by Seeker4 ini had a long conversation last night with an old jw friend whose sister and brother-in-law are bethelites since the 1970s.
she is an artist, and he runs a small but important department there.. we were talking about the bethel downsizing (my friend was well aware of it), and i told him i figured his sister and b-i-l would be safe due to the fact that they are now in their 60s and have something close to 4 decades seniority.
but he said no, that they were worried that they would be asked to leave as well, sent into the circuit work or as special pioneers sent where the "need is great.".

Hi Juni, thanks for welcoming me, everyone's been so nice to me it's so refreshing. By the way, I stand
corrected on my earlier points about the GB's age. Thanks!

Thanks Randy. No, the organization is too cowardly to bring their "message" to TV. I could think of at least
a dozen people who could discredit them in ten minutes (Oprah comes to mind). The American people
unfortunately have only a vague idea of JW's as eccentric, isolated do-gooders.
In response to the end of the Bethel Elders, and the Awake being cut in half, my dub mom said the society is
"pulling in their belt to prepare for the end." Can anybody tell me what the hell that means?
In other words, I say screw stuff like The Da Vinci Code (no offense intended). This is the real great
religious scandal of our time because it's real, and it's happeniung RIGHT NOW. -

Un-believable. Notice how they never kick out old members of the governing body. Although, unless I'm
mistaken, there are only two members of the GB under the age of 90! These people being kicked out in their
60's have little or no life skills, no savings or social security, and no where to go. It is astounding that
this hypocritical "organization" still proclaims that there is no class distinctions among Jehovah's
Witnesses. But on the plus side, these people have such an extensive knowledge of the inner workings of
Bethel, and they have the potental to tell the world the ugly truth about the Watchtower. Raymond Franz
anyone? HE HE HE... -

What most surprised you about your life after leaving the ORG?

howdy.
here's a question: what has most surprised you about your life after leaving the organization?

Champion you are so right. No one is trying to persecute JW's and they are certainly not on stage for all the world to see. EVERY time my mom and I drive past a store that's gone out of business, she triumphantly shouts:
"Satan's system is going down!"
Or every time she loses her car keys, or is late to a meeting, or someone keeps her waiting too long for any reason, she says to the "demons surrounding her keeping her from doing Jehovah's work"
"Anything else you want to throw at me, cause I'll fight you with all my strength!!!!!"
You have no idea how creepy this is...
