  i listen to her regularly.

  i don't always agree w. her but usually have to admit that she is right from a moral standpoint.

  god knows we need more of that in this world!.

  I think she is a shrill, self-righteous wraith with a microphone and easy, ready-made opinions designed to make "morality" simpler than arithmetic. I don't think morality is simpler than arithmetic. Morality doesn't come wrapped like peppermint candy. Witnesses think that, Dr. Laura thinks that, and I don't much care for either.

  one thing i always wondered, but no one was able to answer.

  when you preach to others, you encourage them to read the watchtower ect to gain knowledge about the bible, but wittnesses aren't supposed to read any other religious material.

  i know this is because if they read it they might find the real truth, but how do wittnesses justify asking others to read material when they won't do the same themselves?

  i had the "priviliage" of attending the 3 days of the "give god glory" convention.

  for those interested, i will be posting some observations.

  in one of the first talks, the speaker interviewed a young one, who gave his "experience" of being on the internet and being "seduced" by the pornography so readily available there.

  today i placed a lamb with a flier attached to it in front of a kh.

  there is a young sister who attends there who was repeatedly abused by her step father with wt permission over and over again.

  this beautiful girl has even tried to commit suicide before.

  so, i'm thinking about becoming a high school teacher.

  i'm finishing up a summer course at my community college and will be going to northeaster illinois university in the fall.

  i've been thinking about majoring in biology and secondary education (instead of history and secondary ed.).

  [High-fives Joannadandy!!!] You're going to teach English -- terrific! Your student teaching should be a good forecasting of what it's like.

  Most starting teachers make 20-25,000. By the time you retire you can expect to make 45,000.

  In my district, teachers are hired at $32,000 ($35,500 with a masters) and usually retire at about $75,000 or more. In two years I'll receive a $14,000 raise. It all depends on what state you live in.

  the emphasis of the organization's talks and "encouragement" is to continue believing everything that the "slave" has said because it comes from the "slave" and therefore comes through god.

  if you have a doubt, know that it comes from satan.

  if you don't understand the watchtower's interpetation of bible prophecy, wait on jehovah and just continue doing what we tell you to do.

  Another Df'ing/suicide...in memory of a dear friend...

  things have calmed down again with my mother to the point where i found myself once again in her kitchen last night.

  drinking too many cups of coffee as i always do at her house, i imagine if i were a smoker i'd have been lighting one cigarette after another instead.

  it had been a pleasant enough evening, i sat there with my crocheting in my lap, something i always take with me to my mother's house so that if i get nervous or stressed out, my hands, and my mind, have something to do and somewhere to go.

  How much do you tip and why?

  i am a waitress at a pizzeria/italian restaurant.

  overall i get really good tips but sometimes it seems like the customers are going to tip a certain amount no matter what i do.

  i can totally screw up a table and still get a great tip and other tables i give perfect service to and get a lousy tip.
