franzy, glad I didn't offend you :) Yes I agree, there should not be a war on terror. There should be a War with Al Qaeda or extremist muslims or whatever to more define those which have a very real grudge against the USA and its citizens.
AND it should be a WAR not this p***y a** type "war" which is swayed by public opinion. War sucks, it is dirty, bloody, painful, etc...etc... But the only way to win is to destroy your enemy. Many people do not understand what or why war in needed but if someone is intent on killing you or beating you up or taking your stuff you have to stop them or let them do it.
It is the same as if I am out at night and someone comes up and wants to beat me up and take my stuff and no they don't always just leave you alone if you give them what they want. So if I am in this situation I will put a couple of .45s center mass. End of story, peace restored, that trash which leaches off of society bothers no one ever again. I do my best to avoid bad situations but if inspite of that some lowlife wants to still mess with me I am taking them out, period end of story. No room for retaliation no law suits just self defense.
I know I a lot of people think I am evil but you have not seen what I have nor know what I know. Fact is there are people out their who enjoy hurting others and they are useless pathetic and the only good they will ever do is feeding the worms.

Fuel From a Garden Hose - Hydrogen Fuel
by BlackPearl inhas anyone here thought about the possibilities of getting all of our fuel needs from the unlimited supply of hydrogen in our water?
you see, there two parts hydrogen to every single part oxygen in h2o.
what that means is, if we can extract the hydrogen from the water, we can burn it as a fuel, just like propane or gasoline.

JamesThomas I may have a bit of an insight on things since I work for a petrochemical company and kind of know a few things. Well very few ;) but still enough to be dangerous. Are you aware of the potential side effects of polymerizing veg-based oils? This it the same type of short-sighted thinking that took place with the current group of man-made products. You say "It's[sic] not that big a problem" I respond that we don't know how big a problem it could be and thus we should move forward with caution. You said "It's amazing that one has to actually argue this." I am sure when plastics and other petroleum products were being developed the same reasoning was used. Sometimes it is difficult to foresee the problems that new technologies will introduce when used full scale. I am all for a more environment friendly ways I am just cautious about jumping into a pool without testing the water first. I am not trying to pick a fight but your post was a bit dismissive and despite your opinion my perspective does have value.

Hello franzy,
I don't want to get into a fight with you, I say this in the most respectful way possible.
I have to agree with WAY.
AND I would have to ask you where you get that "most" patriots do or don't do the things you claim?
Do you have any real evidence for making your statement or is it just an opinion?
I will have to disagree with you or at the very least say that neither of us "really knows".
I know people who fit your view, I also know many that don't. I feel that you have either created or bought into
a sterotype which makes this kind of issue easy an US vs THEM thing. When in actuallity issues are rarely that clean cut.
I for example agree with both sides on some things but never all. I consider my self a patriot. Everyone is so quick to dog the USA about the things that they have done wrong but never about the good that they do. I am talking about the governemnt and the people. Simple fact is that all countries act the same way it is just that the USA is the BIG DOG and it is easy for them to be the target of the little dogs. Just the same as how people claim that big corporations are bad for doing what they are supposed to do, make the most money they can. Viewing a group as a single huge entity as apposed to the individuals who make it up.
If anyone goes too far to either extreem they can't see things right.
Too conservative or too liberal. When I talk to most people, they are somewhere in between.
I am not trying to rag on you or anything I just disagree with your characterization of patriots.
I won't get into the whole world citizen thing.

If it happens I will admit I was wrong......highly doubt I will have to.

What people often forget to count is the material production and energy usage in producing and the raw material and finished products which take advantage of these forms of energy. Sometimes the materials which are specialized are petrochemicals, meaning basically it was produced by the oil industry. Plastics esters epoxies urethanes etc etc... It is much harder to brake ones dependence on "OIL" than one may think. What will you use for engine oil, electric wire insulation or numerous other petro products? I don't think the world except for the most diehard tree hugger is prepared for what you will have to give up.

Hey Leolaia, I have been watching Doctor Who since I was a little kid in the early 80's. I was instantly a fan. I am a Tom Baker fan. Most favor the first doctor they watch. I like the new series a lot. I liked the first new doctor and find it hard to understand why people didn't like him as much. David Tennant(sp?) has grown on me. He is a wee fellow but he seems to be able to project a big confident doctor as we all know Doctor Who is. I too have been disappointed with some of the episodes this season. 42 seemed like filler to me and so did the take on the Pilot fish ep. Are they already running out of ideas. I just saw blink...and that was really good. Great concept. The one thing that didn't make any sense was the writing on the wall that said Duck Now. I understand how he knew all the other stuff, but that part lost me. I have a couple of eps to watch yet. Oh, yeah, I am a big fan of Freema. G**D**M She is hot. Sorry but black women with english accents are my weakness. I would fly to england for the weekend just for a date with her. Damn. And I am a person who doesn't like celebrities.... If anyone can give me the hookup, let me know. I want to make some babies ;) Ok, enough of my drooling.

question for technically savvy peeps
by snarf inwe are about to invest in a new t.v.
plasma or lcd?
every salesperson has a diferent opinion on this issue.

I got a 42" Vizio plasma for 599.00 (refurb) Looks Great! There are some that look better but not by much. You need to think about the environment you are going to be using it in. If you have a bright room with lots of windows you need one which is brighter. If it is a dark room you can get buy with one with less brightness. LCDs are good, plasmas are better than they used to be. Find one you like and then tune the pic when you get it home. Buy cheap like me "good balance between price/quality" because the set has a 5-7 life span. Then you will be buying a new one.....technology will be better then and cheaper. If money didn't matter....High end Sharp Aquos LCD.

JW use of federal bennies and illegal immigration
by dontomas inhi folks.
some of the posts i saw here today put me in mind to ask this question.
it seems like jws more than most would be or could soon be dependent upon some form of government largesse (medicaid, social security, welfare, food stamps....) far beyond their own contribution to the till, as it were.

donthomas: well said.
You are also wrong about it being "white republicans" who stopped it. I know personally several hispanic as well as black and asian people (don't know if they have a political affiliation) who were totally against the bill.
You have the right to have you opinion just like I do. But it doesn't mean that either of us is right.
There are many people who interact with diverse people on a daily basis that have compassion for 2nd/3rd worlders especially places like mexico who would be better off if the government wasn't corrupt. But we also know the reality that just letting people come here unchecked is not the answer. You MUST KNOW, who is a criminal, who has a contagious disease, who is going to be a drain on social services, etc, etc.
a UNA is a bad idea, unless you wish your standard of living to be pulled down. That is a fact of what will happen. Talk to someone who knows economics. If you make skilled positions less valuable because of increased workers with those skills pay will go down. When income goes down, what you can buy goes down. What about social services, where is the money going to come from to support the additional load of tens of millions of additional recipients?
If you had a million dollars to invest would you go into business with a person who had 100 dollars to invest and was a known criminal AND you have equal rights in the say of the business and got equal benefits? If your answer is yes.....I have a great business idea!
Dude, it has nothing to do with race. period. The US economy absolutely does NOT "need" illegal aliens. Yes the US is changing and it is up to us to make sure it changes for the better not the worse.
Oh, yeah one more thing....You speak of the government like it is a separate entity. It is not, it is a government of the people, for the people BY the people. This is not a communist state.
