they are an honest bunch all right.. i lived in a smaller city in wisconsin.
there was yet a smaller city right to the south and there was a restaurant that was owned by the uncle of a witness.
this restaurant was robbed one day by a non jw guy and his jw girlfriend.
Back in my old congregation there was an Elder (who by the way ended up being the ONLY Elder due to Br. Cranna's cuts) who let my ex get away with beating me and attempting to murder me by strangulation because my ex had information on him. This Elder worked for a tool business back in NY that only hired JW's and in order for him to make money he had double books. So in this situation, two sets of corruption was covered over.
the only way to go to heaven is believing that jesus christ is god's son, and that he was sent here to earth to die on the cross for our sins.
if you confess him as lord and savior, then and only then, will you be certain that you are going to heaven.

I caught this on the third page. I don't have time to go through all of them. But I do have time (LOL) to post my own personal opinion. IMO, it does not matter if Jesus was pinned to a stake or a cross or a square......the Bible states He came to blot out our sins. End of story. I don't care what imperfect humans stuck him on....the important thing is that He knew what He was facing and He did........for the love of mankind.

As far as what Jesus was sacrificed on........I don't care. What I DO care about is that He came to earth and gave His life. What does it matter to me what it was that He was hung on?
lets get all hypothetical.
lets imagine you are starting or have a business and you need an accountant.. one of your main concerns is their honesty.. you interview some potential employees.. they have very similar qualifications and experience.. the only difference is their religious beliefs.. person 1 is a catholic.. person 2 a moslem.. person 3 an atheist.. person 4 jehovah's witness.
(imagine you are not disfellowshiped so they wont shun you).
sleepy, from my experience, both as an employee and and employer........I WOULD NOT employ a Witness if they knew I was a Witness. Too much slacking goes on. If I were not a JW and looking........the first person I would look for is a JW type.
Time and time again on this board we see hypocracy. In the workplace this applies also. If a Witness works for an apparent "worldly" person/organization, they will do their utmost to be a good worker. If they are working for a supposed Br/Sr, they tend to take advantage.

IMO, as others have stated, we need to focus on the ones that the JW's are targeted.....the general masses of people. It is apparent, as shown by the UN scandal, that the indoctrinated ones is not going to work. I think that we need to get some flyers together. I can think of a few subjects that may be of interest to people that are being contacted by this Organism.
1) Pedophilia (Are Pedophiles Knocking at Your Door?)
2) Blood policy
3) False Predictions
4) Shunning
5) Holidays (especially Birthdays)
The list can go on forever from there.
since i've been here, from around july, 2001, i haven't really shared any personal experiences of why i left the society, except for the story about my sister who committed suicide.

if this is god's organization, i will gladly be a devil worshiper.. here goes....... when i was about 27 years old, (around 1984) after my divorce, i'd moved from laurens, south carolina back to andrews, sc, and rented the house beside my grandmother.
Hugs April. I am proud to say that I have 3 beautiful girls. My oldest is 24 (in May), married, and unfortunately still in the Borg. My other two girls (19 & 20) are going to College and thanfully free from oppression. I love them all dearly and I am very proud of them.
